the nikon d70 outperforms the canon 300D or digital rebel at all levels mate.....imho
however u might wanna look into the latest canon eos20D if u r seriously takin bout dslr cameras......i believe it'll be available in local shores come oct 2004...the body alone costs rm6,999
i'll be gettin a demo unit to play with in a week or two......will let u know on how it compares to the d70.....incidentally nikon will releasing its competitor to the eos20d in a month or so as well.....its the nikon d2x and apparently its really canggih

haha! i knew u r gonna say that
yup, having gone thru some photography forums, the D70 does seem to get the upper hand on several aspects over the 300D, but the Canon may have a better picture quality due to the CMOS (vs CCD) chip.* (whatever the hell that means). and, ermm... this may sounds abit silly but i kinda like the silver bodied EOS as opposed to the conventional lookin D70. it sorta gives u that modern feel to it. oh i dunno... u'll forgive me for i am relatively new to these kinds of gizmos. i feel like a freakin newbie all over again

and how do u get to play with the new demo first hand?? any special deals goin on between u and that junior wong guy, if u dont mind me askin?
OK back to some mobile talk.

ok now i'm a lil mixed up. the s700 is not even here yet and out comes the s710i?? biar betul...
@waja, i feel u r the right person to ask here. so how does the p910i differs from p900? i mean, beside the additional keyboard. what bout the colors, is it 65K or 262K? and the camera is still in vga i think, yes? what bout the OS? if everything remains almost the same, then i might be better off getting a p900 since the price will drop eventually (hopefully) once p910i comes out. pls fill me in coz i'm abit malas wanna read thru all the reviews and comparisons ler (my bad, my bad)
just let me know what r ur opinions. thanks in advance mate!

@hyperken:
Correction for you...
* P910i has 32MB internal RAM. It has 64MB internal storage space (drive C:).
@all:
* More RAM to run applications.
* Bigger internal drive to store data.
* Internal web browser can now be used without styles.
* Improved BT support (displays a BT logo with a headset around it when your headset is switched ON and is within range) plus the BT headset now knows how to switch between line 1 and line 2 for all GSM 1800 users.
* Screen is 262K colors and MIDI polyphony is better (I could hear more instruments during playback from the same MIDI file compared to a P900).
* My 483K patch set for MIDI playback loads instantly when placed in drive C: and it's not too much of a space constraint issue since there is about 50MB free when you get the P910i new. Should have seen the faces of the SE guys when I demoed the MIDI to them.
* Can read MSD pro sticks up to 1GB (couldn't test that since I have only 128MB sticks).
* SMan v1.3a is 100% compatible with P910i (since Jul-2004 ).
* Keypad is easier to use than the P900.
* Business users would love the Blackberry support.

thanks for the comprehensive info ajack. so in other words, the p910i is, thus far, the most "complete" smartphone available in the market, can i put it that way? i just thought that for an average guy like me, the p910i is a tad too advance, for a beginner that is. i would really love having a smartphone tho, just that i don't see myself using it to the max. just some normal daily tasks i.e. web browsing, organizing, emails, messaging etc... gradually i'll learn more in future and might wanna upgrade to a better device. but until then, i think the "now obsolete" p900 (if i may say so) would suit me just fine. and the price is dropping now, how could i resist?

Well, I guess Ajack has said it all, on the difference of P900/P910i. And yeah I feel the P910i is a worthy upgrade for an ex-P800 user like me. To those wanting to buy the P series, might as well wait for the P910i to come out. Either you get the latest P910i or get the P900 at a cheaper price. Afterall, we've waited for so long, so what is waiting for another 1 month or so?
