@Tahir: I think it's 44 million. Honestly I don't think this market will reach saturation soon. There's perhaps another 10 million subscribers out there. Icasa is also considering licencing a 4th network...which should indicate this market is far from saturation. Btw, will we get the Sendo X?

@786KBR: We're in the region of 44-45 million...check up stats.gov.za for the latest figures. Don't think this figure includes the estimated 2 million illegals.

@786KBR: I think MTN started branding some of their phones last year. I saw a Samsung E710 branded with an "MTNloaded" sticker on the back.

I don't condone the branding of phones, but the Vodafone branding isn't to bad (if you forget about the restrictions).

The icons could be a little more colourful, with not so much red

Well on that note...
@ Brix, have you read the 'News From Me' thread yet?
SE REFUSING to let ANY network brand the w800i. It'll apparently have lovely generic firmware.
Hope these facts are true...
We all know that to get any network settings is a simple request from your chosen network and receiving all the settings via a few sms's, as I have done countless times in the UK and several times in SA with a wide range of phones, incuding unlocked 3G-capable 7600's.
Long live the w800i!!!
