emerson_shei sounds childish. i guess he is.
anyway, 808 colors look tiny bit more natural but z2 brings more sharpness. in terms of camera only i'm torn.
but anyway, nobody buys a phone only for its camera and in that regard z2 shits all over 808. no question. because z2 shots look overall as good as 808 if not better, depends on what the person wants more, tiny bit more natural colors or more sharpness. but again, nobody buys a phone only for its camera... bottom line: z2 wins. end of story.

and its so funny how Samsung goes back to Sony's BSI sensor for its Camera centric smartphone instead of using its own ISOCELL
i think samsung knows ISOCELL is a pure Crap against Sony's BSI
Doesn't developing a sensor take a very long time and a lot of resources? It's taken Samsung quite sometime to develop the ISOCELL for the Galaxy S5 and I doubt the ISOCELL is yet at a point where it meets the requirements for what they wanted in the Galaxy K Zoom including build cost. We will see the ISOCELL make a return in the Note 4, it seems they are keeping the ISOCELL for their flagships, which makes sense, it was probably much cheaper to just buy a Sony sensor rather than develop a whole new sensor for what is at the end of the day a mid end phone with an optical zoom camera. Just makes logical sense.

that does not make sense. the ISOCELL sensor is already available. they no longer have to develop anything. the technology already exists. it's even going to be more cost efficient if they use it in more products to spread the R&D costs associated with it. i'm not really sure but based on the sample photos released on mobile-review.com, the S5 photos look better than that of K Zoom's (without pixel peeping). it's a different story when you look into the full resolution crops.
also, wouldn't it be better for the samsung brand to use isocell in their top cameraphone since they are also aiming at selling mobile camera sensors? they're sending the wrong message in ditching isocell for their supposedly best cameraphone.

You're forgetting that the Galaxy K Zoom is a mid end phone at the end of the day, so the way I see it they are keeping ISOCELL for the high end, and probably next year we will see a Galaxy K2 Zoom with ISOCELL, remember even the Galaxy S4 Zoom wasn't given the best optics so Samsung's Zoom series of phones are not their best camera phones, I think their point is the optical zoom capability mainly.

Sorry the Z2 doesn't come close to the 1020, the 808 was clearly superior in the all about windows comparison, look at the detail, the Z2 is heavily processed and lack the details.
The Z2 is nowhere near the 808 or 1020, the 1020 has Xenon, much bigger sensor, OIS and more. |

I'm not a troll just stating facts, the 1020 more or less destroys the Z2. |

I don't know why, but he shoots the 808 in auto mode which is 5Mpix and uses 85% jpeg compression .. if you switch it to 8Mpix and 95% jpeg compression you can get a much cleaner result, at least in daylight.
The color reproduction on the 808 can be easily manipulated as well.
Overall, the Z2 does very well, but it really doesn't stand a chance against the 808.. the difference in camera hardware is just too big. |

My Z2 just arrived!
I will test it and let you know.
It's probably tomorrow I'll have more time to find out how it really is.
And guys, don't let trolls and haters spoil the fun.
Z2 has one of the best phone's camera ever made.
Almost every test shows this, those frustrated cats here don't mean anything really.
808 is not comparable because it's not a phone - it's an idiotic Nokia experiment
resulting in camera attached to a junk device pretending beeing a smartphone.
Very old crappy phone with the worst Symbian ever made.
Let's be serious, please.

Doesn't come close to the 1020 and the Z2 sensor isn't that big, no zooming capabilities like the Nokia's, the 3x clear zoom is crap too. |

@northmonkey
I compared several time shots of 808/1020 and z2. i don't share your opinion. 1020 produce good photos but its colors always look fake to me, and 808 looks less noisy only when zoomed, and anyway, nobody buys a phone just for its camera. another 10mm+ thick brick with a bump that is even thicker that will appeal only to nokia fans and people who likes windows os and dated hardware. overall, there is no comparison here. z2 is a much better device then both. the best all around nokia phone is 1520 but only for people who likes windows and its just got beaten by g pro 2 that has also 6" display and better camera. that makes nokia highest end phones only appeal to hardcore windows os fans. i hope microsoft does better for the sake of competition.
