no, you will not buy C901 because it has no purple fringing feature

BTW. would you be so kind and remove this C902 pic (what's so special on it?) from C901 thread or at least post link only?

a question........have anyone tried to modd c901 cam driver with good result ????

"good result" - explain please
I guess you're looking for me, yes I can make pictures from C901 ultra vivid - oversaturated colors and deep contrast. the question is why? why should I change reality into candy reality?

winter is almost over, mother nature will do her job quickly and some green color will show up in three weeks, green explosion will start at the end of April. since December Poland is covered by all shades of gray and brown only and it's great opportunity to take some shots of nature in dark mood

Plank stop posting in this thread, its pathetic you need to defend your C902 and shows how bad it is.
Your C902 is much much better than the C901 in everything now you can leave and stop posting irrelevant pics
Nobody really cares/wants to read your posts either way - its taken far too seriously anyway. jeez

people should also just ignore comments about the C902 as its totally off topic, talk about it in the C901 Discussion Thread instead of posting C902 pics, in the C901 thread. You have been doing this since page 7

IMO, if you're happy with the pictures your phone takes then your satisfied. There is no need for dicussion or posting random pictures to try and compare quality - seen as most of the time some people disagree on what is a good/bad picture. Be happy with the camera you have and don't rage about others that aren't as good in your opinion.

I would say the Motozine ZN5 or Nokia 6700 are better competitors for photo quality than the C902

I can't stand this anymore!!!! PLANK, have you ever seen a FULL SIZE version of your photos??? Two words, HORRIBLE QUALITY, and yes I have used C902, more than one unit actually (since I work in the shop that sells phones), and yes I can say I am a decent photographer, so don't tell me that it's not the camera it's the man behind the camera, in this case camera is the one that is bad!!!!

By horrible quality I mean, hard, really hard noise reduction that completely eats all the details making photos look like oil/water paintings, excessive purple fringing, pinkish red color, on top of that, photos taken with C902 look dull!!! (yes I have seen your Flickr photos)

C902 is a cool phone, excellent materials, cool camera shortcuts... but it's camera is horrible, and miles away from the amazing C901 quality!

BTW. In my humble opinion, K750i/W800i (cid36), K770i/T650i and C901 are the best camera phones SE has ever produced! Samsung stole Sony Ericsson's spootlight with i8510 Innovo8 and continued with Pixon 12 which are great camera phones. F480i, Jet and few more Samsung phones also have decent quality, certainly better than most phones from SE's Cyber line. Just to make it clear, I'm not a Samsung fan, at all, I'm just telling the truth! Nokia, there's only one phone Nokia made, that produces great photos, and it's 6700, sadly the phone itself didn't impress me at all. I don't like their camera flagship phones, because they all have the same strong noise reduction that eats fine details. LG impressed me with Secret which produces decent quality photos, I have tested KU900i, Renoir and some other LG phones, again I found same problems, strong noise reduction, purple fringing and weak flash. Motorola came back with a great ZN5, one of the best 5 MP camera phones ever. But none of these phones can't compete with quality I got from an ancient CCD camera phone i-mobile 902 (to bad it was a horrible phone) To conclude, I'm sure plank would find the way, to trash all these phones, and present his beloved C902 as the king of Camera phones!!!

Amen to that!

In my opinion, as i have said before, camera quality is something that's very hard to measure if you dont have it in your hands, for example:
If a new phone came out with a 2 mega-pixel FF camera that was really terrible, but nobody knew what the picture quality was like (but presumed it wasn't that good), then if somebody started a new thread of 'post pictures' and took all his pictures in perfect lighting conditions showing amazing colours and sharpness on fantastic sunny days, everyone would call it the best 2 mp camera-phone ever.

Anyone can take bad photos with a great camera - but its when good photographers start taking great photos with a camera with underestimated quality when people start getting excited.
The way I see it: Its the camera's poetential that counts here -
If you give somebody a DSLR does that mean they will start taking fantastic photos easily??
IMO: No, it doesnt work like that. That's why we should look for potential in cameras and thats why judging quality of cameras is difficult.

Do you think there would be this much interest in the C901 on esato is this thread hadn't been created?
or more interestingly:
Do you think there would be this much interest in the C901 is somebody else has started this thread but churned out terrible quality photos all taken indoors using artificial light?
The C901 is based around its camera - if people posted bad pics taken with it do you think people would buy it?
Any camera/camera-phone can take bad pictures
bad light = bad photos

Im going off-topic but i just think its interesting how people perceive camera quality and how they would react.
------------------
Im not saying we should only post pictures taken in perfect light conditions (sunlight) we should post pictures in all light conditions to show where the camera thrives and where it falls.
I think its clear that all camera-phones perform the best in daylight where they have as much natural light getting to their sensor as possible. Most camera-phones perform badly indoors, where light conditions are bad (the quality and source of light) It makes colours look bad - pics look blurry. This also shows the difference between digital cameras and camera-phones - camera-phones come with tiny sensors to detect light so indoors (poor lighting) they will need long shutter speeds, causing blur and poor quality pics - whereas the sensors in digital cameras are both bigger and better quality, shorter shutter speeds - less blur - better quality.
IMO thats why camera--phones could never compete with decent digital cameras - due to one big issue - space. There just isn't enough room for big sensors/lenses and all the rest.

the 'dust' on top right corner of this image is not due to dirty lens, but it is the thin smoke coming from the fire drill behind that man
