oioldman, I was offered w960 by orange for £49.99. But wanted a non-sliding walkman that I didn't have to pay an additional fee for so they gave me the w890.
In regards to using it, the fact that it is so slimline, stylish (much more elegant and easy on eye than slab sided, by comparison, w950), has a 2gb card right out of box, supports up to 8gb, has excellent walkman capabilities when you plug in headphones - use your own headphones! the buttons are extremely simple to navigate, and the menu is common sense. The battery power is superior to any other phone I know. |

will have to give them another all, tough was this in a shop? or via the website? or direct on the hone to them?
i only use the phone as is easier for me. |

It was direct on the phone. I'd just tell thm how you are a valued customer etc and you've seen better deals on vodaphone, and they will lose your custom etc. if they dont budge, i guess you need to select another phone! good luck. |

which headset comes packaged with this phone? HPM-70 or HPM-75?
and does HPM-70 has a 3.5 mm jack? |

hpm-70.... yes, 3.5mm jack comes with it.

I posted this in other topic but i want you opinion too.
I have W890 and S500 and unfortunately S500 has better sound quality through headphones from W890. Sound is more clear fuller and more dynamic.
So what i do? I bin my W890 and i buy a W580 that has better music player form S500? I go for W910?
Anyway i am dissappointed to discover that W890 is worst but head to head comparison proves this.

Are you sure? Do you use same music files? Same equalizer? Same earphones? W890 comes with hpm70, and s500 comes with i don't know.. hpm 62? I was compared hpm 70 n 62 with my w810, and hpm 70 has more bass than 62, though sounds is clearer on hpm 62.. |

Hi, does anybody knows if there's a way to manually install the latest generic firmware (version R1FA030 )?
I've have the R1EA030 generic firmware... but SEUS keeps telling that it's up-to-date...

obs: I'm in Brazil and my phone is unbranded and unblocked...

my w890 is unbranded unlocked from the manufacturer, and i cant get seus to work. it recognizes my phone, says "leave connected till completely updated", sits at 0% for 15 seconds, and then says failed 
any ideas? |

hey guys. I bought the w890 a few weeks back am im loving this phone. but im having some probelms with my memory card. if someone could help me, it'll be verry appreciated.
When i go to file manager, and go to the memroy card tab, sometimes it says "No File" even though i have a card in the phone and i have to take the card out and put it back in for the files to show up agian!! is it cuz there is a problem with my memory card? I dont think its that the phone isn't able to read the card cuz if thats so, it should say "Memory card not inserted" in the file manager. also, when it says "no file" and try to take pics, the pics i take doenst' get saved anywhere..
I really love this phone and i want to get this problem solved..Whats going on here?!?! someone please help me!!

I use hpm 90 connected with koss headphones in both phones so comparison is credible. Anyway difference in sound quality is not chaotic but audible at least to me. In other comparison i made k850 was better than w880. |

firmware is releases are based on the region of your phone from..
not all regions can download the latest firmware...
you have to change CDA and find out what region has the latest firmware and chage it to that CDA region and use SEUS to download latest firmware..
