Cellphone pics:
Was fortunate to obtain these passes:
New Ducati 1098 in limited edition Italian 'tricolore' colour scheme:
A bit of a bugger to get a decent shot at the show; just look at all the spotlights along the ceiling and stands reflecting on the bikes! To compound things, this bike was on a rotating platform...:
Damn all those spotlights...anywayz, here's Ducati's road-legal GP-engined bike:
More Italian exotica, this time a MV Agusta...what a rear end:
Still more Italian bikes, this time the Benelli Tornado Tre 1130cc. The 2 fans under the tailpiece is to cool the Benelli's radiator, which is mounted under the subframe as opposed to under the front headstock like most others.
Close-up:
Unique lines of the Benelli TNT:
The praying mantis-like front end of a black Benelli TNT:
More pics to follow shortly...

American Harley Davidson (a.k.a. Hardly Dangerous ) bling:
The front end of BMW's huge 1200GS Adventure:
How's this for a trailer:
Not sure what a big slot car layout was doing at a motorcycle show, but anyway...:
Triumph's enormous 2.3 litre Rocket III, with Campbell exhaust pipes:
Fancy some camouflage and other colour TYRES for off-road bikes?!:
At one of the airbrushing stands:

@ wanqa, nice pics:) i am also tempted to get a bike, but 2 problems with a bike: i am not worried about my driving, i am worried about other peoples driving. I live in Gauteng after all. The other thing is, i need the space of a car. My bass amp and bass guitar is rather big, and needs to be moved around. I got a huge amount of cash for a nice big deposit for a car, so i will do that soon enough.
About vodacom internet, it seemed to be off half of the weekend. I had so much trouble logging in lots of the time into gmail, mxit and surf the net. Darn annoying!

Thanks Francois, although I wasn't bowled over with the pics taken at the show, as much as I was hoping to be. Those myriads of lights either reflected the light all over the show or caused over-exposure in some of the others that I didn't even bother posting. Oh well...
As regards a car, I have to agree, it's the far greater necessity for many obvious reasons. I couldn't do with just a bike, and this was even more the case in SA where there isn't the commuting options that are available here. And yes, it's other people on the road that one has to really watch out for, and that's the case here too.
Right, this monstrosity was a show-stopper of sorts:
These 2 were with the old digital camera:
That's all folks.
Gotta get stuck into some admin now. Will check in later again.

@ GUCCI,
Ya, even when I was at high school, there were some guys who would put DT 50 stickers onto DT 125's etc.
I remember seeing one of those 24 inch Hummer monsters in SA at Zwartkops race track, when we were there to watch the bike nationals back in 2005. It was a jet-black H2, with an awesome sound system. It had various vinyl stickers on it, advertising for some Gauteng security firm. Wonder what those mags and the low profile tyres to fit them must cost in SA...

Eish GUCCI, that's an insane amount of money.
BTW, hope you guys enjoyed the cricket.
Back to phone stuff, the UK's Carphone Warehouse has dropped the price of the dumbed-down version of the W800i, ie. the W700i, to 79.99. That's about R1120.

Some beautifully-sculpted metal there, Wanqa. It tempts me in a very in-your-face way, lol.
Gucci, cell manufacturers and networks are much the same i.e. they claim to listen to what we say but they don't really pay attention to what we want. Typical is the fact that Vodacom could've introduced data bundles for prepaid but still hasn't. MTN could've included more bundle packages yet they jump from R10 to R100 with nothing intermediate.
Wanqa, i hear you boet, admin is such a drudgery! My living room looks as if i robbed CNA. Files and papers scattered all about, plus this week's prep winking at me in a jy-gaan-lekker-k@k-die-week way... Lots of catching up to do after the time off sick. Lol, then ppl think teachers have loads of spare time
Anyway, back to work. Cheers all.

@ GUCCI,
Yup, the only way the W700i could've made any sense is if it was much, much cheaper than the W800i, which it wasn't.
Who in their right minds would pay a little less for a W700 and then end up having no auto-focus and a 256mb card instead of a 512mb one?
Nah, even at its current reduced price, I'd settle for a K750 any day for exactly the same amount of money.
@ Kryptik,
LOL, we can indeed empathise; I've literally just finished the planning for this week. Yes, there are many times that my study (and sometimes the dining room table...) are literally covered with files, plastic sleeves, documents, sheets of paper, pens and highlighters and of course piles of books, eagerly waiting to be marked...
Time to make the missus and I a cuppa java and then retire for the evening. I can see myself 'sukkeling' to get up tomorrow again...
