Birdie....num-num!
Screech owl (appropriate name...), also known as a barn owl.
The biggest owl type, the European eagle owl.
Screech owl with kestrel in the background.
Falcon:
The bright light filtering in from the right played havoc with the pics, but anyway...

@ Mario,
As expected, my N73's firmware is passe to say the least. It's the old, iffy V2.0628.0.0.1.
Up until recently, the latest firmware was V2.0628.0.0.3.
The latest is V3.0649.0.0.1 . According to a few Symbian forums that I found on the net, these latest 2 firmware updates make the world of difference to the cell.
I look forward to getting it installed on the phone over the weekend and noting the changes...
BTW, the video is indeed superior to the Nokia 3230 that I had, but again, I can't make a comparison with the N70 as I've never played around with one.
Also, the phone has absolutely no branding, apart from an O2 start up and shut down show.

So next year China is apparently set to take third spot away from Germany on the world's wealthiest country list. As regards cell-related matters, check this out:
China leapfrogs to 4G mobiles
[ TUESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2007 11:43:36 AM]
Beijing: Third generation (3G) telephony is passe. China has leapfrogged into 4G mobile systems, which provide faster wireless speeds for transmitting data and images on phone networks.
The home-grown technology, launched in Shanghai on Sunday is expected to be put into commercial use by 2010, and is said to provide data transmission speeds of up to 100 megabytes per second, against an 10 Mbps under 3G which was not launched in China and is confined mainly to GSM operators in Europe and CDMA operators in Korea and Japan.
It could even be faster than entry-level broadband connections, which transmit voice and data at speeds of 256 Kbps or more, and many times quicker than dial-up net connections which usually have speeds of around 64 Kbps.
With 4G technology allowing faster data transmission sharply improving, consumers could hope to get multi-channel high resolution TV broadcasting right on their cellphones.
While China claims to have developed its own technology, other than what is used elsewhere, technology buffs are surprised at the latest development. The protocol developed by 10 “leading domestic institutions” calling themselves “Fu-TURE Project,” is estimated to have a rollout cost of $19.3 million.
China initiated the B3G (Beyond 3G)/ 4G research project in 2001 under the label Future Technology for Universal Radio Environment, or FuTURE Project. It has obtained more than 200 patents and some of its core technologies have been adopted by international standards organisations, positioning China as one of the world’s front-runners in 4G technologies, a report in the China Daily said.
“It testifies that the technology we’ve developed is feasible and brings us one step closer to put it into commercial use,” a leading expert involved in the programme, You Xiaohu, said.
“The Shanghai system shows that we have entered the final phase of our project,” You added.

Damn nice pix there, Wanqa! I think i'm suffering from the same thing as the birdie though, the flu's kicked my feet from under me, so i'm confined to bed. Apart from the trips to the loo, of course, every 7.2minutes
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious. |

Im a PS fan, wont support MS.
Besides PS will have more games and more users to borrow from, no one I know likes the Xbox, some have it but just till the PS comes out.

I would imagine the n73 would be good and fast at taking pictures. I mean, even a minute for a camera phone is way too much. My phone does not take more than 15 seconds a shot, if not less, and it is not a camera phone.
@ wanqa, suppose those owls just hit the harry potter soft spot in the younger kids...hehe! Cant wait for the next movie and the final book:gotta finish what i started.
Ps or xbox? Um, just to spite sony for delaying the launch so long after the us i would almost go for the xbox. But ps is more common, so why not, but i am no expert.
So, vista is officially out. The prices are hectic, at least for the versions that are worth it. The version types are made in such a way that i would have to pay almost 5k to get a version that covers both media and business. Pretty sick, but yeah, have to pay the idiots. So what do you guys think?

@ Kryptik,
Thanks boet. The mrs also had a serious bout of jippo guts over the weekend; she involuntarily obtained an alter-ego: Di O' Rea.
We get Imodium here as well, which did the trick. Nurse Wanqa also helped with generous amounts of TLC.
@ Francois,
Yup, there were a good few references to Harry Potter with those owls. Mrs Amawanqa didn't mind me checking out those 'hooters'...
