My x10 is only 3weeks old. And the first time I put it for charge I left it over night and I think the battery was discharged and it again started charging. Left it as such till it reached 100%. Up till now I have charged battery 7 times. And each time it takes very long time to charge. I tried changing the charger too.i used my brother's zte blade charger and it still takes almost 4 hours to charge. Is there any problem with the battery? I am on.stock 2.1 Rom with the latest 2.1 update that was released only last month. Please help.
Can somebody throw some light on this?
One thing i have noted abt my phone's charging is that it charges very slowly uptill 50-60% taking more than 2 hours and after that the rate of charge increases. Is this normal behaviour? I usuallly get aroung 1 day and 15 hours of battery life with some calls, texts, email, games, music and surfing over the EDGE data network.
you get a lot 1 day mines finish in just a couple of hours. and thats using everything on low and turning off all data. i used android assistance for block start up items i herd moxier mail and face recognition sucks battery as for charging it takes forever so i charge the phone over night

Well, Even i used to charge the phone overnight and wake up to see the phone's battery status still not 100%. So when the next time i charged my phone, i did not leave it to charge overnight and also i measured the time duration and it took 3.5 - 4 hours to fully complete the charging to 100%. After this the subsequent charging cycles took only 2 hours to fully charge to 100%.
If you leave phone to charge overnight, the charging might complete to 100% but if the charge is still on, the phone discharges 15% of the battery and starts charging. This makes the subsequent chargings ver slow. This was pointed out by Rookwise to me.
So the trick here is to not to leave the phone on charge overnight. Charge the phone a couple of times and cut off the charge as soon as it reaches 100%. Do this for a couple of times and your charging cycle times will improve and your battery life will also improve.
@Rookwise.
Thanks for pointing out the battery drain problem to me. Now my phone charges to 100% in exactly 2 hours and also my battery life has improved a bit.
Cheers,
emzee.

No probs. I took my first 2 x10's back because I thought they had problems with the charging circuit until I read somewhere on se's website that the usb cable cuts the power once the phone is at 100% and starts to charge after a 15% drop. Tested this out to make sure and watched my x10 charge and it was indeed correct.

is anybody else experiencing issues with apps not being compatible when they should be? I browse the market on the website and apps that I should be able to install (eg. PowerAMP) says it is incompatible with my phone. What gives? This is ridiculous. I just tried installing google+ but I get the same problem and can't install it. I'm truly annoyed.
UPDATE: apparently it is a rating limitation! market has a setting to show specifically rated apps. by default you're very limited so you have to select "SHOW ALL". I set it to SHOW ALL and it fixed my problem

It's about a month away...
If I hadn't already bought an arc I'd be jumping around for 2.3 on X10. I hope it significantly closes the gap between the two handsets.

I think I'm going to buy iPhone 5 once it's out. I love Sony Ericsson and I still think they make the most coolest phones like arc, play and recently launched active. I'm so done with android fragmentation and lag business. Tired of this waiting game. Been doing that for like 10 years now lol. Still I'll keep my X10!

I can see Gingerbread performing quite well. They've had plenty of time to fine tune it.

@Indiandawg I think you'll be less annoyed with lag if you've tried one of the new xperias or even a custom ROM on the X10. Also with Android Icecream fragmentation will be minimal as updates will be handled by google or at least schedules will be strictly enforced by google.
I actually think if there was a time to go to iPhone it was the 3GS, at that time very little was in competition with it, now what we are seeing is android manufacturers really pushing the android platform and the gap is closed. What we will see in 5 years is a situation similar to Windows and Mac OS where Mac is far from dead but Windows holds the majority and 'normal' people buy Windows, only with Android and iOS.
Now is the time to come to android from iOS if anything and it's what I'm seeing with my long term iPhone user friends, except the hardcore Apple fan, the one who drives a Volvo.
Where WP7 fits in is still anybody's guess as it's still so young it's not fully formed it can still sink but with Microsoft it won't go without a fight.

So, despite thinking makes the coolest phones, you'd still want to buy an iCrap? That doesn't compute for me! 's phones are so much more stylish and capable and affordable than Apple's over-hyped, over-priced, every-sheep-has-one junk! I laugh when I see soneone using an iCrap. It immediately says to me that the user has no idea of technology and just wants to be one of the mindless crowd. Good luck with that. Those of us with our brains still functioning prefer (No offence!)

Ricky you got a point there, no doubt it's the best time to switch android.
Haribolman, I do think the same what you have to say.
The thing is, what I use the most is the browser, emails and phone. By phone I mean calls and whatsapp. Now I don't need a dual core or anything. Yes in terms of technology, I'll need 3G, wifi, Bluetooth and USB. And I know that apple is such a wh$&@ that it cannot come out with full functionality of tech like android devices but because I call apple a wh$&@ is the reason of it's fluid and amazing OS. It's closed which is totally the worst part. But boy, it's total lag free. I'm quick and fast. I don't have to wait. And im a user who does not like to wait for loading even for a second, that's how I am.
I'm not trying to convince that apple is better, I'm telling you guys that it suits my needs.
I got an iPad 2 and believe me I wanted to go for honeycomb. I waited for Xoom. It lags. After I also thought of getting S1 Sony tablet but then really after seeing iPad 2 flawless interface, I was blown away. I don't want to own anything for now that lags when I type, open or do anything.
Will wait for android to get lag free and then definitely why not.

I would highly recommend you Root your X10 and load this ROM to get an idea of how 2.3 will be like on the X10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119508 there's no lag, its unbelievably smooth and is regularly updated.
