The phone can be used either with the swivel open or closed. Basically, the only times you'll be using the keypad [with the S700] is when you're entering new numbers to dial (or save), text messaging, and probably while playing games.
But if you already have contacts saved onto your phone, you can make and receive calls with the phone closed (through the use of the joystick/pad and the softkeys). |

Well I have just been given the s700 to test and I must say so far it's pretty dam good. I must confess to being a little sceptical as some time back I was given the k700 and three days later I dropped it in a bin to return back to my 7650. The k700 is a phone for teenage girls, the graphics, ring tones and ridiculously squashed up buttons that were impossible to use at speed. The k700 is just too small to support the screen.
The S700 however is in my opinion worth investing in, it has some fantastic features and it is easy to use.
For the first time in my engineering career I give Sony Ericsson a thumbs up.

thanks for the reply!
also, i was wondering whats the evident differences between the k700 and the s700? other than its camera (1.3 MP and 8X zoom VS. 1.3 MP interpolated images-not as good quality and 4X zoom)...and im not that "big into the real technology stuff". just some basic and intermediate knowledge (since i don't do that much with my phone. basically i use it for what a phone does, and taking pictures, and transfering ringtones and stuff back and forth, maybe a bit of BT technology too.. but hats pretty much it. unless there is some other function it has thats easy to access/use/play with and I don't know about???) DIFFERENCES.. please!!!
THANK YOU SOOOOOO much!
yeah. i know its 4 times more colour and its bigger (so heavy though!!), anyone find it particularly chunky? and would prefer the k700 for this reason?
THOSE WHO HAVE THE S700 already: is the colour display ALOT better than the k700 one? cuz i think it wouldn't be "that" much difference since we've reached such high amount of colours anywayz..PLEASE share experience!!

Trust me, the display is a LOT better then the k700. I don't think there's a better display on the GSM market at the moment. |
