Hi Guys

What kind of accessories do you think will be available for the X10?

the first thing i will buy are at least screen protector, and maybe some kind of protection around the phone to protect my "precious"

Since it's capacative, does the X10 have a glass screen or plastic? If it's glass I wouldn't bother with a screen protector, remember you won't be scrawling on this with a stylus (just your finger) so it's unlikely you'll damage it, and the protector will just get in the way.

If it's plastic, bad choice SE.

Nice try boinng.

The Capasitive LCD have mineral glass cover.
So no need for protection imo.

When I look at these UI pics,

I think it's a nice UI and nice work done indeed,

but for me personally it's boring especially with this bue
and all is so "airy", would make me bored...

I must say SE made a great work on X2's UI,

absolutely the best what they've done in this respect..
Much better than X10.

X10 looks mainly as a lifestyle/media device...

and another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prndR7XRClI

EDIT:
I totally agree with u doministry, this UI will be gud for all facebook n twitter users, but for me sms and email will do it as well, since I don't use these services. I hope some modders will find a way to put Sense Ui on X10. this would be the ultimate phone for me

It was an honest question! I'd have been surprised if it was plastic, given the opportunity for proper glass (which is one of the many plus points for capacative). Good for SE.

X2's interface looks like something out of Tron - yet another attempt to paper over the cracks in Windows Mobile, this time with some faux sci-fi nonsense designed to appeal solely to hardcore geeks who don't know any better. At least the UX in the X10 looks to have had some actual thought about usability and usefulness put into it, rather than just what looks "cool" to immature men.

I think just the opposite.

It has a huge functional potential opposed
to UI's designed for boys and girls who have to have everything "right in the face"
dumbed and extremely simplified to use it
otherwise they get lost if something is in any way complex.

It's boys who get excited over this kind of thinking.

No, not boys - the word you're looking for is people. Call them dumb if you like, but it's people generally - men and women - who get excited about advanced functionality they can actually use, laid out in a way they can access easily and be productive with.

Boys like toys - gadgets that impress other boys and make them feel big and clever. The more complex the better, since they aren't really for using in the real world anyway..

I have been using one for a couple of days. It looks nice and all but I am so angry with it and have therefore returned it. Its a near complete phone and they claim it has a 1Ghz processor but it feels like 50Mhz. It is so 5hit and infuriating that I cannot even touch the thing. My X1 is slow because its old so I can deal with that but a 1Ghz phone that is so slow is incredible. Satio is like this ladies and gents and it totally pi55e5 me off, I cannot take it when something is done so badly. It doesn't even come near the HD2 and never will. are way off, the HTC Hero is faster and I bet that even the retail version will of X10 will be slower. Sorry for the rant.

it troubles me a bit if i read reviews like that,
can anybody confirm who got hands-on?

It has been rumored that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 was slated for a February 2010 release, but after seeing people's first impressions of the device, well, it looks like there's still a lot of work to be done.

Gizmodo:

It's missing that spark, the emotional drippings of OMG, that say, the Droid has. The X10 is perfectly fine. It's just that everything outwardly belies the specialness of what's going on inside. The all plastic-build feels just slightly better than cheap, the shape is kind of awkward unless you have gorilla hands, the design—it all just feels, well, incredibly ordinary.

Engadget:

It seems that performance is very contingent upon how much content is loaded into the device and what particular thing it's trying to perform. Sometimes we'd fly through the stacks of faces, while other times we'd sit there waiting for the simplest thumbnails to load up. The good news is that we have until next year to see this thing really come together, and the word is that the software is improving and a rapid pace.

BGR:

The UI is very functional and it gets the job done, but it’s not as attractive as HTC’s Sense UI. We’re not quite sure what it is about the XPERIA X10, but we’re just not feeling that “wow” we got with the Droid, for example.

Overall, it seems like everyone was ready to love the XPERIA X10, but the XPERIA X10 never gave them a reason to. The design isn't groundbreaking, the hardware wasn't amazing, and the software still needed work. To be fair, it wasn't all bad. The 8.1 megapixel camera got rave reviews from everybody, the screen is lovely, and Timescape and Mediascape (features of the Nexus UX formerly the 'Rachael' UI) were great ideas. But in the end, it just seemed as if the XPERIA X10 just simply isn't ready.

There's no official release date (and we'd much rather have Sony Ericsson spend time tweaking everything anyway) and no official carrier linked to it (Sony Ericsson says they're working with US carriers to get it subsidized), so there's still a lot of unknown with the device. We had high hopes for the XPERIA X10 and we still think that Sony Ericsson can deliver a winner of a device. It's just going to take more time than we thought.

Me a boy liking overcompliated gadgets?

You're clueless, boy.
You have no idea how wrong you are.

Yes, unfortunately 90% of people using technology today
are complete idiots in this specific regard.

Because that's the trend and current attitude - no effort, just "gimme that, man!", lifestyle, fun..... And loads of sh..t.

It's like a real literature vs cheap short stories with clear ending.....

I know how the market goes but there's no need to praise that.

To be clear, I comment your general idea regarding UI,
not specific devices.

You can like or dislike whatever you want.
