i already asked this question in w850 forum already..but wasnt satisfied wid da answer given (no offense to da guy who replied)
i was wondering wether the k800 has better screen den w850 ..cuz one is a music phone and da other is a camera phone..so obviously the camera phone needs better screen...i kno da resolution and size etc.. are da same but sometimes cuz of the way the phones are built or the screens are built...one phone will sho a pic wid great colours and quality but at the same time the other phone doesnt do justice wid da same pic...so i mean in dat sense are they any different????
Thnx in advance |

According to Eldar on mobile review the K800i and the W850 a basically the same phone if you take a way the form-factor : -
Model Cindy was to hit the shelves in June but early in 2006 it was postponed due to intentions of announcing and eventually releasing Sony Ericsson K790i/K800i in the first place.
The model precisely copies Sony Ericsson K800i, featuring slightly altered feature set, different camera and integrated Walkman 2.0 media player.
One and the same core functionality means that the model will reside in the same high price bracket and what is more is going to be boosted by widely known standard kit of all Walkman-branded handsets price-wise.
So I would say they are the same as they are the same size and have been developed around about the same time. Whether the screen is used for imaging or not its prime purpose is to be able to read clearly in all types of lighting conditions.

@786kbr. Yes hut he wanted to know which has the best screen
According to the site the screens have the same specs. I can't see why they shouldn't have.

@ fimpiel - after handling a N80, i thought it was much smaller than people make out. Its shorter than my K750i when closed, it doesnt seem much thicker than my K750i, just a little wider. I very nice phone, and if you sell it i'll buy it off your for next to nothing..
@ SloopJohnB - what on earth do you mean ? the K800i isnt out of date, its very much up to date, its only the video camera resolution that is out of date. The headphones are basic because its not a Walkman phone, it comes with a 64mb Duo to keep costs down, its larger because of the QVGA screen and 3G module, it has a Xenon flash which is better anyday than a LED for taking still pictures and wont be very expensive after the first month of release.
@ solja786 - what makes you think just because a phone is camera orientated, and the other Walkman orientated SE would give one or the other a poor screen ?

Se are trying to be sneaky, with the whole not changing the video res up...i think its completely not on!
Somebody said earlier though, that this is not going to be the best se have to offer, k series wise in 2006...and they are right...se will release the K900 in november, as they did the w900 last year. 3.2cam with qvga video and a 1gb card included

Thats what I mean.
If they have the same plans for Cybershot as they did for then we are bound to see more, but I guess it all depends on the success of the initial Cybershot phones.
They wouldn't want to play all their cards at once will they... |

So far I think the W900i takes the best video of all the Sony Ericsson phones.
It can take video at 30 frames per second at 320 x 240.
Any idea on if the K800i can do this?? |

Regarding the Ebay listing of this handset K800i.
Anybody gonna bid? I know it's like £400 but least you'd get bragging rights bout having one of the 1st of its kind in the country!! ; )
Personally re: the Video quality, i do agree with the majority that it's a shame we couldn't get better video quality (even the Samsung D600 has one of the best!) but it's a done deal for the moment!
Bar signing a petition (which would more than likely do no good) what else are we all gonna do?!
Didn't the video quality get better with the K750i though after a few firmware upgrades?

Not really that much better. It's still stuck at 10 fps.
I really want the K800i to have the 30fps video mode found on the W900. |

my contact at CPW tells me the K800 codes are loaded up onto their systems which usually indicates availability in 2-3 weeks apparantly
I'm looking forward to this one

Anyone have any proof of this ? everyone seems to be saying the same, yet it all sounds like rumour to me. Judging by past years, we're not likely to see another K series, more another swivel phone like the S700i / W900i.
I dont think SE will release any more phones that they havent already announced yet, this year.
