ROLMAO @ Kryptik.
@ da brixsta,
Good news. I spoke to the East Ham CPW store manager (Faisal) at lunch time and he assured me that the Z710i's that they currently have in stock are unlocked.

@da wanqsta: Good. Sometimes I wonder why we couldn't have our handsets so cheap.
Please correct if I'm wrong but we still don't have either the K610 or the Z610 available in this country, not to talk of the Z710 and it's Walkman equavalent.

@GUCCI: I won't mind living in any Dainfern, Estate or Valley but then they should have the beach nearby
Come to think of it I've not been to the beach this holiday season because of all the crowds...would rather go when all the kids have gone back to school....Think I'll head out there on Friday morning.

I miss the beach here too, not to mention the stunning SA beaches.
The nearest beaches to us are really not that enthralling; I've got to drive much further up the coast before I get to any decent, sandy beaches.
KBR's been playing around with a W710i; perhaps he could shed some light on its (and the others') availability in Emzansi.
Will (finally) post a few N73 pics tonight.

@da wanqsta: These phones might be out but they're very low profile...hardly being marketed, okay actually have jacked up their marketing in the latter half of 2007 especially for the phones if you didn't know much you'd think didn't make any other phones but
Sanity has returned now that all the schools have opened...since I don't have a car I might take the train and head over to Fish Hoek..awesome beach apart from the occasional gust of wind.
Brighton Beach?

@ da brixsta,
Brighton down south (and its crappy beaches) is incredibly overrated. Pebble-stricken beaches and an iffy English Channel in front of you.
The nearest noteworthy seaside town to the east of London, as opposed to south of London, is probably Southend-on-Sea. Although also popular, I still don't rate it very highly; still not a patch on Milnerton, or Melkbosstrand, etc etc.
The last time I was in Fish Hoek and Simon's Town was back in 2002, although we really enjoyed going around Gordons Bay, Hermanus, and the Strand last time we were home in 2005. I'm such a sentimental wanqa...
On the east coast of England, Lowestoft in Suffolk and the beaches around Great Yarmouth in Norfolk remain the closest I've seen to SA's beaches. These are really decent. On the west coast, the ever-popular parts of Cornwall and some parts of Devon could give the other English coast areas a run for their money.
At the end of the day, I miss the warmer Indian Ocean currents, bigger waves and greater stretches of natural beauty that many of the south-eastern beaches of SA have...in spades.

@Kryptik, at least it wasn't a used condom. |

lol boet, you know how the folks used to operate- they waited until you guys were in school and i'd come home from lectures, then called me into their bedroom to "please explain"
One of my cousins called me today to ask whether he should opt for the W810 or some Moto that his service provider was offering him on his upgrade. Twas a no-brainer really

Right, I've been taking mostly night-time, indoor shots with the N73, mainly due to the fact that (being Winter here now) we leave for work when it's dark and get home when it's dark!
The weather over the past few weekends hasn't exactly been ideal either.
Anywayz, I like the fact that the camera keys on the side of the handset also light up with the blue-lit keypad, particularly for night-time use.
I have to remind myself, after using the 3230 for so long, that this new phone has a rather bright flash, and as such one can tell that I need to remind myself of this when looking at the bright reflection in some of the pics. So we learn, I guess.
First up is Mrs A's roses, using flash and macro-mode at night:
Next, my gothic-type 'holder-modified-charger', complete with the T610. Also taken tonight, in the study:
Yet more rooibos types hitting the shelves here, now a lemon-flavoured variant is available. Actually, I have to admit that Mrs A has somehow got me drinking this, and it's the first rooibos that I'm actually (cue Ripley's voice: "Believe it...or not...") enjoying...
A bit too close with the flash on this tonight, but I'll get better:
Back to the future...er I mean study; here comes the sci-fi Predator again, and the detail picked up in macro mode, compared to the 3230, is very evident here. No flash though, as it reflected like crazy on all the metal, and thus a slight dullness in this evening pic sans flash:
Light fitting near the bottom of the stairwell:
Looking forward to taking various decent pics in daylight conditions, including pics at the 2 forthcoming London motorcycle shows (within the next 2 weeks).

I was wondering when we would hear of those motorcycle shows...
My friend just sent me Faithless - Bombs
What a different track, but it is good! Saw him do it on some award show, but wow! Odd music. Sounds kick-ass on my phone...
I miss hermanus. My uncle used to have a house down there. Wonder if he still has it. Got so many memories of the place.

Ya, it's occasionally referred to as 'Hoermanus' because of so many CT high school binges en loslyf goeters that go on there after their finals etc...

This interesting, fancy 'lighter' was given to me as a present, although I don't smoke...
Taken with the N73:
The gas cartridge is at the top, and you obviously crank the handle to ignite.
