@786KBR: Here's my take on the MyADSL forums. They're good when they discuss tech related issues but once someone starts a political thread all the racists come out the woodworks.
Prime example is the thread on "white economic empowerment"...It's crazy because after being in charge of this country for almost 400 years some white peeps somehow still think the world owes them something.
And with government's crazy policies on BEE and AA its easy to blame someone else for your shortcomings.
Sometimes I get the impression that those whities over on the MyADSL forums want all of us to be equal but only if they keep all their advantages which were gained through centuries of abuse of black people. I say those discussions should not be deleted...let the racists whinge and whine all they want but South Africa won't change for their sake.

I take it you Brixton tower?
Im JK. But my problem is I dont feel like its a good thing to be a member on that forum, mainly because of all the hate speech.

It shouldnt be allowed at all. They just feeding eachother and every topic ends the same.

@786KBR: Yep I'm Brixton Tower. There's lots of hate-speech but you should have the bottle to give to the racists. I won't stop posting there, as I've done occasionally just because I'm scared of getting into a verbal scrap with a herb who feels the world owes him something for merely existing.

Yeah my WSOD just randomly appears when running applications, but it is a mild form of WSOD. It just hangs my phone and will go away if i end my current app. I will have to take it in sometime. Will inform of the firmware version later. Rather annoying.

Yeah, have not really done the MyADSL thing, got no desire to go argueing on the net. Once saw a classic image. It said the following:
Argueing on the internet is like running in the special olympics-you may win, but you are still retarded:) lol!

No offence to anyone, i have worked with disabled kids before, and they broke my heart, and i love them to bits. A forum is for discussion, thus, discussion forum. Find that you can have your own opinions, but the idea is not to rub off your opinions on others, but give info that others can use to make their own opinions. Obviously there will be silly intolerances, but it comes with the territory. I am just glad that over here we have a common understanding and respect. That is very important.

Quiet around here today...

I see what is meant by many of the threads on myADSL leading to political and racial rants, ranging from some negative ex-pats in their ivory (as opposed to brixton ) towers to others reflecting and referring to AA, quotas and by-gone eras (errors? ) like the war in Angola etc. etc.

Back to phone stuff, I'm really enjoying being able to finally take decent pics with a decent cameraphone like the N73. The 3230 I had certainly did a great job with its more basic 1.-something cam, but the new Nok on the block is obviously in a different league. Happy Wanqa I be. Will post some pics soon.

@Gucci: The iPhone would've been awesome if it had been in shops today. By next year when we eventually get it there'll be many other phones to compete with it that's unless your looking to replace your iPod Nano.
@da wanqsta: I'm sorry that Benni didn't get on the score sheet but a gritty win nonetheless.

@ da brixsta, yeah Benni's side could do with a few more wins. But Gilberto's antics now means he will more than likely miss the big clash with ManUre next Sunday...

Ja nee, end of the weekend and vacation and back to work tomorrow. Rather looking forward to it, albeit having to sit thru the usual endless speech so liberally sprinkled with cliches about noses stuck to grindstones and shoulders wedged against wheels. Maybe i'll even hear my own personal favourite, a twisted malignment about not upsetting the apple tart. No matter how often i tell the dude it's "cart" he sticks to tart, lol.

Anybody used Wiki How To site yet??
Fascinating, to say the least!
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.

@ Kryptik,
Try not let the apple 'tart' speech give you indigestion tomorrow, boet.
Maybe someone should record the speech and he can then just play it again next January, and the following one... Who knows, maybe he might just get the message then.

What a handy site that is, although some of the popular ones on there put a smile on my face...

I heard from this indian chap at church today that they made an investigation on the availability of the iphone in south africa. He says it sounds like it will not be brought into the country. I on the other hand cannot see how the will do that, because it is a big market that will be missed. I have not really talked to many people that have said they would not highly consider getting one after i explained the examples on the web site, even though the thing is so big!

We will start bugging vodacom soon enough. I am sure lots of complaints will come out if we dont see it here.

As I've mentioned before, I'm no market analyst, but I'm sure that it's a safe bet that they'll find their way into SA, whether through independent companies or hopefully some of the networks.
Wouldn't Apple or the networks be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn't try broaden availability of such a much-hyped handset?

However, I maintain that it remains to be seen how desirability for the iPhone is maintained or diminishes in the wake of imminent Nokia and releases before the end of 2007/ early 2008...

A year of non-evolving, market dormancy in cellphone technology? A dangerous gamble perhaps. Yes, I don't know all the facts and figures that make up the dynamics, logistics and reasons for this long gestation period, but nevertheless...
Yes, the Apple brand is strong, largely thanks to iPod success and Macs etc, but in this cut-throat cellphone arena over such a time period, well I dunno...

How long do you think it will be before they are no longer refered to as cellphones, and more like, multi purpose devices or something of the like?

An article found on Mobile Today, from a more sceptical viewpoint about the iPhone's planned 10 million-sales-in-the-year target:

@ da brixsta,
What more must an Amabhakabhaka fan endure this season? Losing 3-1 to Bloem Celtic is rubbing further generous heaps of salt into the wounds of 'The (Un)Happy People'.
