is X10 still worth buying? specially it will be updated to 2.3
I am Considering X10 and Neo for my Next Phone
X10 Cost $330 only and Neo Cost $525 a very big difference in price, although X10 may not have Bravia Engine, Exmor R Sensor, True Multi Touch Sensor and Lower GPU compared to new Xperia Lineup
but X10 got bigger screen and large 1g ROM vs Neo
and i have a few questions about X10 Dual Touch, does it works fine in most Games? specially First Person Shooter or any game requires atleast 2 touch.

X10 DT will probably not work as well as you want it to in games. It will zoom in and out fine with pinch-zoom but anything requiring things like holding one finger on and tapping with another finger won't work so great i.e. not at all, also anything that require the axis of the two touch points to cross each other won't work perfectly, sometimes the axis will get confused depending on what you're doing.
If the front facing cam is not a concern to you I'd consider arc. The spec is more or less the same as neo only the front cam is missing, it has a nicer design and bigger screen, other differences are quite minor. If cost is more of an issue I have an X10i up for sale at a reasonable price.

I bought X10 right after the 2.3 update announcement. The price was 230Eur for a brand new device with guarantee. I am quite fond of the phone, dual touch works fine, but I personally find the "SE zooming" better. One finger only, hold it for a moment when looking at a picture then move upwards for zoom in, downwards for zoom out. To me works better than pinch zoom. The screen is quite power hungry, but has a superb sun readability, the best i have seen around for years. Although overall it is hard for me to judge the screen against NEO as I didn't have a chance to compare. One thing i would be a bit worried about NEO screen is the gap between LCD and touch panel, but again, cannot serve with any direct observations. Speed and stability of the phone is just fine. I use Adv.task killer, but use it very very rarely as the phone can manage the applications good. I turned off timescape and most of the automatic updates, use facebook for android instead and that works for me very well. Installed "Arc homescreen and widgets". I didn't root the phone and i dont intend to. With 2.3 update around the corner for me, as a standard user, just no need. Most of the things the 2.1 lacks from stock i can have with apps (imediashare is just great DLNA server, pda net for GPRS modem...).
Overall i consider my X10 a great value for money, with probably not loosing too much when selling it next year and going for Arc or SE dualcore solution (surely they pack one out).
And if can squeeze Ricky D a bit, I am sure he will give you a good price. |

I use MyPhoneExplorer, Google's backup didn't do me any favours so I've turned off syncing with that crap. |

to tobias84 ->
I dont do google/facebook synch. I Like my contacts private and separated.
Two "hardways" I recommend:
- simply go to phonebook, then press "menu" button, "more items", and "backup contacts". What the phone does, it stores all your contacts as .vcf files on SD card, including all details. After upgrade, just go back the same way, but press "import contacts" and you will have it back on your phone.
- Transfer your ALL your contacts via bluetooth to another phone (i have used my old N5530). Same thing happens, e.g. the phone will send all your contacts as .vcf files to the other phone (BTW. This much more usefull when transfering contacts from any another phone to X10). Then send all contacts back to X10 after upgrade. It receives and saves all .vcf files on SD card (folder "bluetooth") and again if you let "import contacts" to phonebook, X10 will find those on SD card. |

Today I walked into a second hand phone shop which buys & sells phones. I seen an x10 for £120 & it was in AS NEW condition!! I was shocked how great it looked & could not resist but to buy it There was not a single mark or scratch on it & it still had the factory screen protector on!! Excellent bargain. I have had the x10 before but sometimes you realise something is still good & at such a cheap price & great condition I could not say no

@RickyD
ah thanks for the info, Arc is very expensive, and i do like mid range phones, they can be easily replaced if i want a new phone
even though i like to buy your x10, we are very far to each other and delivery charge and customs fee will make your X10i for a price of an ARC
@Lewko
right now i have x8, and its rooted and i have made some modifications in it, i was just wandering if ever i bought an x10 right now, having in mind that it will be updated to 2.3 and this will be the final update for x10(according to SE, and we are thankful that they will update it to 2.3), i am having second thoughts, and the hardware cant really keep up, specially playing MT games, just like RickyD said, i do play alot , the price right now is just hard to resist
@Bonovox
I too always visit some buy and sell phone shops, and hoping that an x10 just like what you saw that someone might sell it for that kind of price

Sure, although Im Just using Stock X8 and JiT only, and i cannot say they are 100%, although X8 have a Fake Dual Touch, it is still hard to play. IL rate each game i play based on the performance on my X8, but im sure if you are going to play this on X10, you'll have a better experience
>Large Screen
>More Ram
>More CPU power
>Dual Touch: as long as you know the limitation and the Dual Touch That it will not get confused or act strange
Modern Combat: Sandstorm = It is playable without multi touch, so you cannot run and fire at the same time. 8/10
Brothers in Arms 2 = Same as Above, but more LAG in stock SE Software, some people who installed custom rom 2.2, reportedly said that the lag is Bearable. 6/10
NOVA = same as above. 7/10
Contract Killer = Very Nice Game, sometimes it will need Dual Touch if you want to shoot a target, but not necessarily all the time and no Lags at all 9/10
HawX = Some Bearable Lags in some stages, specially when a lot of enemies infront of you at the same time, cannot maneuver and shoot at the same time. 8/10
Super Knock Out Boxing = Some special Moves or basic moves need dual Touch. 7/10
Toy Shop Story = No Diagonal Jump, so its hard to jump from one place to another. 7/10
Assassins Creed = there's a special apk that the jump button is mapped to hardware keys so no problem finishing the game 10/10
Pro Evolution Soccer/Real Football 2011 = Shoot while Running is not possible or very hard. 8/10
Heavy Gunner = there's a mode where you can select Unitouch/Multi Touch. 9/10
Gangsstar West Coast Hustle = cannot shoot while running, etc but still playable 8/10
Demon Hunter = hard to jump diagonal. or do some cool combo. 7/10
Meteor Blitz = Hard to Shoot while Evading. 7/10
DJ Rivals = just like DDR games. 5/10
Guerilla Bob = sometimes i can shoot while running, like a bug. 8/10
i don't know what i miss , i hope someone here can share his experience with these games that requires multi touch/dual touch

Thanks a lot. I'll probably play them on the XPlay too and see how they perform.
