When can we expect this on the market, beginning Q4 or only midway?

the bass is mega

It makes the sound richer IMO. I can't imagine using a SE phone as a walkman if it doesn't have MegaBass, but we are all diffrent of course.

This is the problem I have: Sound Richer. I'm something of an audio guy, so a term such as "megabass" has no validity in my mind.

Is it a different decoder, or does it just add bass to the spectrum, giving a fuller but less accurate sound? What I'm keen on is whether or not walkman and non walkman phones (in this case k850 and w960) use the same software or hardware for transfering the mp3 to audio frequencies....

ppppiiiiiiiiiipppp, wrong again.

have you ever listen on a k800/k810 with the equlizer properley checked ?
(i dont think so)...i have realy good bass sound on my k810i. ask bronxdude, he changed his equlizer,(here on Esato today).....he thought the bass sound became much better.

here (again) how to put the equlizer on k800/k810 to get similar Mega bass sound:

1st bar: Full
2nd bar: 5 points
3rd bar: 2 points
4th bar: 7 points
5ht bar: Full

try that, and then speak !

You cannot achieve Magabass bass with simple eq. tweaking in K810. Try it on with really expensive headphones and you'll notice the difference. Megabass is something that'll always remain unique to W series and K series cannot have it.
And to the other poster, its just a mere increase in bass, nothing more.

did i say that ?

i said similar....and yes, the bass sound is realy close to the bass sound. (i know, because i have own many and ordinary phones)... have my "old" w810i here on the couch. i tried them both some minutes ago (both with a pair of HPM-70)......not very big difference.

ps. (its called Mega bass)

pss. have you ever listen to a k810i (k800) with the equlizer checked like i said ? (i shouldnt think so).

I have tried that with the equalizer, not good enough! People have diffrent opinions of what they like you know, nothing to get worked up about.

plankgatan I tried it this morning on my W810i (great phone by the way) and then compared with the megabass, and even though it's close it's still not the same, it can't quite replace MegaBass, but thanx for the tip beacuse it's the closest i have come to same bass sound.

wait a minute. "i tried on my w810i" ? ( w810i have Mega bass), you must be writing wrong stuff now ! (which phone did you compare with...its ONLY k800/k810 equlizer we talk about !
(no other K-model (cybershoot) have this similar bass sound))

please don't even mention the HPM 70 as headphones..try the senn CX300 and you will see that HPM 70 are really SH*T...the CX300 are great to try achieve better sound with the K series...you gain about 20% in volume and bass...anyway....megabass is still the best...my w900 still blasts my head off while my k810 seems like its whispers in my headphones ...sooo to end this
> CYBER - SHOT ...so expect crap sound from K850
