I did a rough search and cannot seem to find solution to my SEUS problem, so I am posting it here.
After downloading the software using SEUS, while transfering/installing the software onto my phone from my pc, SEUS would restart to the home page (ie. two options: start or exit). I tried it two more times and same thing.
FW:
phone: CXC162037 R7A001
bluetooth: CXC162058 R4F01
organizer: CXC162090 R2A05
CDA: CDA162007/6 R2A04
phone is a Hong Kong version P990i with chinese languages. And I am trying to updating with English (US) languages selected (don't know if that is the problem, but I want english version for the missing english T9 in flip-closed mode)
anyone having the same problem? or any solution? |

don't think you can put any other sort of english on the HK version of the P990... well not one that will support T9 anyway.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
I had the problem of the restart aswell... that happens when your P990 isn't detected, I suggest you install the driver again.
edit: or try another USB port

Fixed it now.
I uninstalled SEUS and resintalled it back and updating finished without a problem. However the FW didn't get updated, I thought the organizer and CDA would be updated to R3XXX. Do orgainzer and CDA ever get updated?

Hi to all,
does the p990i has the option for loudspeaker on flip open?.
The p910i did have the option of activating the loudspeaker when the call was received on flip closed but if you received the call while on flip open there was no option to activate the loudspeaker.
I have ordered the p990i but not yet received it, hopefully by friday. |

@alphaAFM,
There's no harware key to enable the speaker on the P990 in FO. You'll just have to access the menu to enable the speaker. |

tell u what that latest firmware is a damn sight better than the release one. got mine from Vodafone UK on the day it came it. adn to be honest lately it was gettin on my tits. i was praying for an update. Went away for a bit, came back adn thought aw hell lets see.
1 update later and its faster, smoother and less crash prone. Watching a vid can still cause probs if the screen gets locked or i jumped around too much before letting it play but still the rest of it is a hell of a lot better.

Hi guys...
I have posted this question on "Sony Ericsson P990 discussion" thread but no one reponse yet. Hope I can find the answer in this thread.
Anyone know how to remove Contact List on "To" in messaging menu? I mean the list of some contacts as the recipient of previous messages.
In non-symbian phones such list can be removed simply by clicking "c" button but I find that in P990 or M600 it's not working.
What I need to know is, how to remove this kind of LIST : see inside red circle on the following picture :
Thanks in advance.

have noticed one thing. i have disabled the shortcuts on screen when in FC. but sometimes they randomly come back, even though in the options its still set not to show them...only way to turn them off is to turn them on and then off again. its attualy quite annoying lol

Hey Guys,
I am pretty happy with my R5A002 firmware right now. Is it really worth upgrading to R7A? I mean it's just a biiig risk you take when you update firmware, soo many things can go wrong! Also, is it CONFIRMED that Week 48 is when we see the new FW for this phone?
Thanks,

I upgraded my firmware yesterday... Vodafone P990i..
to be honest with you guys.... it's worse than what it was...
the only trouble I had before was the SMS problem..
OK, I have received a few sms... but now it's gone back to unable to open them...
wish I'd have just left it alone

Well, according to the P990i Calender, Week 48 commences Monday November 27 dude.
So it's still a few days away.
