@da wanqsta and all you Mac fiends: Just got a bit of bad news this morning from the people at Project3. Apparently the iPhone has not yet been approved by the FCC in the US and it will only be available in June on Cingular...Europe/Middle East/Africa can realistically expect the phone in December/January...expect SA to get it at the latter date.

LOL, what's with non-Pirates fans suffering from a form of dyslexia? Just kidding.
@ da brixsta,
Ya, I saw mention of that somewhere; available for Cingular only was printed in bold in one of the articles, but can't remember which one of the many that I read last night.
Didn't know about the long waiting periods though...still, let's hope it's worth the wait, but a wait like that can quickly make a handset 'passe' by the time it eventually becomes available in this ultra-fast-moving segment of technology, a la P990i...
Right now it's all-new, exciting, and a very welcome breath of fresh air in mobile phone design.
Perhaps its uniqueness and the many original attributes that it has will keep it fresh and in huge demand.

Okay, I have pulled myself away from the website and gone absolutely apefeces...this is really really going to bring mobile phones to a new level...It is incredible watching the examples on http://www.apple.com/iphone/ how it looks, feels, and operates...I dig the fact that when you turn it horizontal that everything adjusts to that...
My big concern however is apps and games...there will be, but how compatible will it be with what we need and use? I am sure this won't be a worry then, and that some widgets will do the job. Oh well, time will tell.
On when and price, this is what I found:
The phone will be offered exclusively through Cingular in the US in June, and will come to Europe in Q4 2007, and Asia in 2008. A 4 GB model will be offered for $499 with a 2 year contract, and an 8 GB model will fetch $599 with similar contract provisions. The phone can be purchased through Cingular's website or via the Apple Store.
I think we will have it by next year, right about the time I get to upgrade...Perfect timing;-)
I like this, and for now I intend to get this baby when the time comes...Can't wait! It is exactly what I need! Brick or no brick...
It is so beautiful...(Francois Perving)

Expect to roll out the Bravia phone at around the same time that the iPhone launches in Europe...it's going to be some tough times ahead for the tech geeks.
@da wanqsta: Pie-rats have just had a horrid time of late on and off the field...Kaizer Chiefs have done marginally better but nothing to write home about.

I'm on a course today, so no pc access until tonight. I've brought the P900 along for company; easier to disguise that I'm on esato...er I mean taking notes. ;-) @ brixster, I remember checking the league table a month back, and I can hardly believe that they're right down there. Not sure how the fixtures are panning out, but they seem to have played a good few less games at that stage...

WOW!! The iPhone looks awesome!!! I can just imagine what a flap there must be in the designrooms at Nokia et al...
This is why i've been so quiet of late-
Only a few more days left of this view, so i'm taking in as much as i can

@ Kryptik,
Eish boet, I'm so envious...care to swap that for a grey, drizzly and icy view from our window? Howzabout a quick time-share deal?!

Had dinner with my friend(the one who recently got the P990) last night and he didn't have anything good to say about the phone...mostly it crashed when he opened the Office applications like Excel and browsing through it menus took a lifetime...I told him to take it back and to get himself something else but he insists on getting a 9500...Think I need to tell him about the HTC TyTN.

I met a guy a few weeks ago, and he had a p910, and he could not stop cursing sony ericsson. He did not have a clue how to use the thing.
Now who is to blame? If you can't use it, get Nokia...everyone knows that! It is like the life raft with a bag of cool goodies with a little notice that says "You know how to use all this stuff" and makes people believe they can...
But let's face it, everyone has their poison.
I might have to call in on my warranty sometime soon again...my phone has strangely given the WSOD for a few seconds kicking me out of my apps, and then working again. And the camera fails for some reason. It just refuses to open for no reason until I restart...
I don't mid if the phone crashes once in a while, but little bugs like this need to be sorted out. I swear, Vodacom will blacklist me as the BUFH (Bastard User From Hell)

@jmash They aren't.
@all: If you've ever played Half life 2 you have to read this online comic about Gordon Frohman done in the half life 2 engine.

The instance where he goes matrix on the combine made me nigh on wet myself. Hope someone else enjoys it too.

I have read some of those comics, quite amusing...
My favorite is called Gone with the Blastwave...based on a post-apocalyptic world where you have a huge city and military guys trying to get out...and there are opposing teams....You have the reds, the blues, the yellows, and so on. Here is my favorite comic so-far...it just cracked me up:

@Siosal: Since June last year I've not been true to my avatar. I like the look of the W850...but it came out four months after I had signed a new contract...I like the Z610i especially it's LED's.
