@Mamba... lucky you! Everything you need for an inverter on one page.

See Areafada's picture for the kind inverter I have (Made in China! Too )
See Bryms last two posts on what I use my inverter for and approximate price.
See Amby's post on how I connected my 9 batteries (in parallel, so the capacity is greatly expanded and the voltage remains 12v).

The fellow I bought mine for sells 500w for 10k and 1kw for 20k.

Theoretically, it takes 12 hours to fully charge. But if you get 4-6hours of NEPA daily, your batteries may never run down.

Two men, one American and an Indian were sitting in a bar drinking shot after shot.

The Indian man said to the American, "You know my parents are forcing me to get married to this so called homely girl from a village whom I haven't even met once." We call this arranged marriage in my country.

I don't want to marry a woman whom I don't love... I told them that openly
and now have a hell lot of family problems."
The American said, talking about love and marriages...
I'll tell you my interesting story.
I married a widow whom I deeply loved and dated for 3 years. "After a couple of years, my father fell in love with my step-daughter and so my father became my son-in-law and I became my father's father-in-law.
Legally now my step-daughter is my mother and my wife my grandmother. More
problems occurred when I had a son. My son is my father's brother and so he
is my uncle. Situations turned worse when my father had a son. Now my
father's son i.e. my brother is my grandson.
Ultimately, I have become my own grand father and I am my own grandson.
And you say you have family problems? The Indian man fainted... . . .

Has anyone else tried video calling with his/her spouse? Or tried it just for fun? If I recall correctly, only one person has done it. I find it surprising. So I wonder... WHY?
A] Spouse/Friends have no 3G phone?
B] Problem with the settings?
C] High tariffs?
D] No interest?

A] Spouse/Friends have no 3G phone? My wife is on another network zain is it possible to make video call to her? She uses N95.

B] Problem with the settings? I don't have problem with that, I've gotten my video call settings correct.

C] High tariffs? It's might b expensive, but most of my calls r business calls n i don't need to see the person's face, i just need answers to question like, has to product arrived? have u brought the stuff? please pay the money into the account? i'll deliver the stuffs, etc

D] No interest? I'm interested, i want to even see 3G video call at work. what i'm using 3G for in my case, on mtn platform is high speed browsing.

@coolapostle: Videocall with my wife? that would be the day! She's on Zain, the eternally-slow-to-implement-anything-data network. But I have made at least three videocalls to colleagues at work (MobiNaija.com) as part of our testing activities, and it was strictly on the MTN network. Inter-network videocalling is yet to be implemented (that's the official stand), and I haven't bothered. Videocalling is like MMS - exciting but with very little everyday value. I'm not sure if and when I'll ever do a videocall out of a real need.

I have made a video call to wife (on her birthday) and one or two colleagues (more of demonstration).
Video call was expected to be the killer feature of 3g, but it hasn't worked out anywhere. I think mainly due to cost. When you talk, you accomplice an important objective, but what do you gain seeing poor quality video of your wife gazing into her phone while paying N1 for every seconds of it?
Nowadays 3g is focused on data.

@all, I've never successfully made a video call any time, so is the quality of the video as bad as adursa described it?

I'm satisfied with the quality of the 3G call I made.I think the picture quality of phone in use also has role to play.

@all I managed to config my ubuntu 8.04 for both dial up via MTN and Starcomms evdo express card. The whole process na like rocket science, well it was worth it sha. I'm slowly weaning meself from the cluthches of microsoft. The only draw back is my fav DJ program )Virtual DJ) is not open source yet. In the meanwhile i will still be dual booting.

Tried the video call in abj a couple of times and i didnt see the person i was calling. Will try it again someday soon.

@fdigital, abeg PM the arrangement too. I be corper and NYSC allowy no cover data charges.

Has anybody purchased anything from the BUYRIGHT online shop before. I want to get an external HD and they are pinging the price @ =N=21,300 for 360gigs with the housing plus shipping to Nasarawa where i'm serving. I hope this aint too steep.

@ all God bless

there is a God and he's got mad love for me!!!

@area: I can confirm now that MTN's system has been robbing subscribers in this very same way. Huge megabytes of data simply disappear spontaneously and subscribers are cut-off. This has been a steady issue for about 2 weeks now.

The only set of data subscribers who SEEM to have been unaffected by this are those on the 30-day all-night plan.

Literally speaking, its sheer daylight robbery.

My inability to configure Ubuntu for dial up via MTN is a major reason i am still stuck with my vista PC. Can u share tips on how u went abt it?
