@mode: he's asking whether it could be modded like the old days of uiq or not.
@echo.shane: of course there are customizations for the X10. But what kind of are you looking for?

so i finally replaced the touch module for my x10 since i cracked my original.
everything went well for the most part, but i have a bit of space at the bottom where the touch module is coming off the front housing. It's strange, cause it wasn't like this when i originally attached it. everything seems to be working fine except for that. I'm contemplating on whether I should just open it back up and try to reattach it better or what but the whole process was stressful as it is, so I was thinking I might wait a bit...
Funny how the phone never feels quite the same after you've taken it apart. Somehow it feels a little off.

Gonna say not really true as I have been using task killer application from day one since I have got the phone (10 months ago) with no problems at all. |

It has been mentioned quite often now that from Android 2.0 onwards theres no need for a task killer application as the phone already has one in the settings. Its also been mentioned that the Android system manages its memory and kills tasks as and when it needs to which actually makes it good to use up phone memory cos the system will free up needed space itself.
You will also find that with 3rd party task killers you will be killing parts of the android system which will restart straight away. This will also cause a drain on the battery.
Apps that show adverts can consume battery and slow the phone down even when not in use as the app is constantly connected to the internet downloading the adverts.
As also previously mentioned. A good fix is to download adfree android from the Android Market. You will need superuser access to use it though.

It can't be very good though... my X10 slows right down as soon as the free memory goes below 60mb. I still have a task killer and I still find it very useful. Cause a laggy X10 is painful to use.

Exactly Rookwise!
I had been using System Panel as a taskmanager up until 2.1, a few weeks after updating i found it pointless to get a taskmanager and NOW im running Froyo and have absolutely NO NEED for a taskman, Android is just brilliant at handling tasks, i never worry about background tasks or rebooting unless im switching sims, and it will get better with the Gingerbread update
So my advice: dont bother with a taskman.

Looking forward to the update and also to checking the Honeycomb rom once its in final stage. Its only Alpha version last time I read with just a few things working but its certainly a start.
I'm actually hoping Google will bring Android out for the home computer/laptop at some point as well.
