@ Siosal,
When are they likely to be available?

I am considering sinking my teeth into the nokia theme editor...i am bored;-)

Anyway, I just realized something: I am a month or two away from my next cellphone upgrade. And with the thing of actually getting it a few months earlier...less than that. It does not feel like I have had my phone for that long due to waiting so long to upgrade...I can't wait to see what will be on the production lines next time around...

Just sent Vodacom a complaint about the fact that my handset is STILL not on their website, but the w950i is. It was 6 months ago that I brought this issue to light, and they subtly suggested that they will fix it, but 6 months later, nothing...Hello Peter will get the complaint if this week does not cause this to be sorted out.

Yeah

Ladies and Gent. Happy new year again.

Talking about cellphone upgrade my contract is due for upgrade in the 22 this month.

I am not sure I'll upgrade. I just don't need any vodacrap phone. If I don't find a good unbranded fone. I might just let the contract lapse.

I wonder what good does vodafone branding do for vodacom.

@ teeninvader, maybe you can find a handset that only has internal branding, and unlock it. It is just so ugly having the Vodafone branding on the outside.

So I got a response from vodacrap:

Dear Francois

Thank you for your e-mail.

Kindly be advised that we are aware of the settings of your handset, however we are awaiting the settings from the Manufacturer. We cannot however advise you when this will be completed. You may in the interim select an alternate handset available.

Should you have any further queries, please contact us via e-mail at customercare@vodacom.co.za.

Warm Regards

Nadine Steyn

Sweet. But definitely deserving a nuke(hint hint to all possible world power leaders in the future...a nuke on voda HQ would be welcomed)

I proceeded to e-mail Sony Ericsson, explaining the situation, putting the e-mail in there, and requesting them to send these settings to Vodacom and inform me when they have done so. If they actually do so, then Vodacom has no excuse. I think it would be funny;-) Hope it happens. After that, ol Peter will have to help.

Man, one of those Johnny Walker blacks sounds nice right now...never mind, make it blue if it is gonna involve gun play to attain.

AMD fusion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Fusion

So it sounds like this year and next would be the launch of this baby.

well guys. i was at Vodaworld and they said i had to wait at least 24-48 hours for my phone to be flashed and the Vodafone live to be taken off. and as for my customers K800, they said that they "CANT" take Vodafone live off. i could have left my phone there. but im only going to Vodaworld next week and i need my phone since im going on honeymoon next week tuesday. sadly i shall now have to get my phone flashed in another 3 weeks time.

@ wazarmoto,
Oh well, hopefully the honeymoon will take your mind off the maligned Vodafone branding until then.

They gave me the same story about The K800 being branded on the outside and some legal BS, so I pulled of my Vodafone sticker and said there, now its not branded on the outside.

So the smaller N93i and N76 (slim-clam S60) break cover today,
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=138865

...as do the first official pics and specs of the W880i and the basic W200.
Dang, me likes the look of this slim new Walkman, and it seems that have actually put auto-focus in the thing. Hopefully the plethora of W850 owners complaining about the lack of AF prompted them to sort their kak out
However, as regards the W200, as brix mentioned some time back, why the hell are they still bothering with those really crap VGA cameras when surely a 1.3mp should be the new basic/low end camera type? Come on, ...

LOL!
Humour's always such a good potion... we've only just arrived home after 2 accidents on the way slowed our progress to say the least; what normally takes us 40-45 minutes took us just short of 2 hours tonight...
It's amazing just how much accident onlookers slow all the bloody traffic to a virtual grinding halt!!
Rant over, now lemme go get a Budweiser out the fridge...

Our areas has too access points, and occasionally a truck overturns in the one that goes under the railway. Days like that a 20 minute trip becomes a 2 hour one. If you know about it there is a round way, but you are usually caught smack bang in the middle of it all before you know what has hit you.

Over and out...sleep well!

Vodafone launched their broadband internet service here yesterday, together with a landline package. It is called 'Vodafone At Home.'
Basically your monthly landline rental with them includes free UK landline calls and the broadband internet is up to 8GB speed with unlimited use, for £25 a month (approx R350).

@da wanqsta: Doubt we'll ever get something like that here. I'm planning on getting ADSL in my flat in it's almost a mission implausible.

@ da brixsta,
Pardon my ignorance as regards the success or usefulness of the following in SA, but what about iBurst?

@ brix, whatever you do, just don't go contract. Neotel has said they will start rolling out next term, and they have said so since their launch...safer not to commit to a contract when things might get 4-5 times cheaper very soon. I-burst needs a 2k modem, or on contract you pay it off over 2 years. Telkom will screw you over which ever way you look at it. I don't know, there is not really any safe way about it.

What do you others recon?
