Learning from America should be rational thinking, yet shameless Prof Iwu was asking US to come and learn from Nigeria's electoral process a couple days to the election.
Learn what from Nigeria? JIBITI? or "the more you look the less you see"

As an academic, I found Prof Iwu's diatribe rather scandalous. The two "lessons" he wants the Americans to learn from us are examples of how dumb our electoral umpire is.
Americans have a solid identity system. They know who is who and they know who and who is qualified to vote. They dont need a "voters register". When we have a solid National ID card system, a voters' register will become superfluous. Even a drivers' license will become unnecessary, they will simply need to mark something on the card to show that you are licensed to drive!
Secondly, the Americans have an election day. But like a wise people they are, they recognized that some people may have reasons not to be available for voting on the election day. So they allow early voting for such people and disabled and elderly voters and absentee ballots for people abroad.
No system is probably foolproof, but to fault the Americans on these two grounds borders on insanity.

I heard that INEC PRO denied that Prof Iwu made the statement.Anyhow,I believe Nigerian electoral system will improve.

hello @ all.where is everybody abi ?abi una go america go vote 4 obama?anyhow am happy is in my life time a black man is going 2 rule america,making him the no1 citizen of the world.etisalat stil does not have service where i am(gwagwalada abuja).so they can hold their sim i reserved.cos it wont make sense if i collect it and i cant use it.

Thanks for pointing to that video, I have been looking for it. What we saw is nothing new or "extra-ordinary" on Nigerian roads! It happens everyday, usually to men.
It is "FORTUNATE" that this happened to the daughter of a former Army officer. This country should rise in unison and ensure that the Admiral is unceremoniously dismissed from the NAVY. We owe it to ourselves if our uniformed men will stop treating the rest of us as worse than animals.

Well, after more searching, I came across some "other side of the story" where the lady in question was said to have "bulala" (for real) one of the ratings because the rating banged her car, to give way.
The story sounds plausible to me because I know people who carry horsewhips around to flog fellow motorists for "traffic offences" against them. And adding to the fact that this is probably a spoilt daughter of a former Army Colonel.
Of course, this other side of the story might be contrived for all there is to it. And in any case, if this is the case, the lady should have been arrested and handed over to the police for assault. But of course, the officer and the ratings could plead temporary insanity. If I were to be whipped by a lady on the road for "traffic offence" in which she is the accuser, the judge and the executioner, I will suffer temporary insanity! |

Upgrading from the E90 is a tough call especially if you are ok with the weight. It is certainly the best symbian device out there and if you want to stay symbian, I'll advise you wait for the successor to the E90. |
