^screen is definitely not OLED.
in other news, I am gonna try replacing my touch digitizer tonight. Several things are going through my mind...
1) i'm gonna screw something up and brick my phone
2) the new digitizer won't work after i replace it
3) the new digitizer will suck worse than my original, but cracked, digitizer...
So, wish me luck. I'll probably start it in a few hours so if anybody wants to give me some words of advice, please do!

Didn't you crack your digitizer months ago?? You still haven't replaced it?
My advice is only general 'good practise' advice but:
- Clear your desk completely (looking for a small screw that has rolled into a pile of loose paper is not cool)
- Clean your desk (you don't want dust under that thing)
- Keep your desk well-lit (again finding walking components is made a lot easier)
- Don't work too close to the edge of your desk (things usually have a tendency to fall off the edge, major ballache)
- Look up good disassembly instructions example
- Take notes or draw pictures of where screws and parts are coming from to aid putting it back together

@ricky
yea i cracked it at least 6 months ago, if not longer. I just never got around to replacing it and tonight is no different! got distracted with other things and still haven't done it yet.
Thanks for the advice and that disassembly guide was the one i was planning to follow. It does not show how to replace the digitizer, though it links to another guide that I am taking into consideration. I'll likely use the blowdryer method to loosen the adhesive and hopefully not damage anything when prying it loose. I was also not sure how to attach the new digitizer since the one i ordered did not come with any adhesive. good ole Rookwise suggested i use very thin and clear double sided tape and i went out and got some today.
I will do this soon! I'm getting tired of seeing the crack and not having a screen protector on it (i don't see the point with a big crack in it) makes smudges and fingerprints an eyesore.
I'll probably get to it this week since i've got the tape now.

The double sided craft tape is a must. I got some a few years back for my T650 from Hobbycraft (dunno if you have them in the US).
Thankfully not needed any on my X10, although I'm considering taking it apart for a housing change to aid the flaking silver paint down the sides.

still gonna be carrying around your x10 even though you've got a shiny new arc to play with?

My arc still hasn't arrived yet, it's awaiting customs clearance which should be today for tomorrow delivery, so yes, I'm still carrying my X10. When arc comes though, I'll either put the white X10 up on eBay or pass it to my sister. It seems not many people here on esato want it.

New will be about £250 upwards.
Second hand, I guess up to £180 boxed.

@ Ricky_D I just bought mine X10i, new, €250 ,not knowing you were selling yours...
Never mind, I am very happy with the phone so far and looking out for the Android 2.3.
I was considering getting Neo, but due to the JPN earthquake it will come to my country only in july... so I just went for X10. |

Im looking for an application which reminds me of calendar events, tells me tomorrow's weather update etc like a personal assistant. Worldmate application has a very good personal assistant and its a good example. But if you guys know any better than let me know.
Thanks

@indiandawg the regular calendar app does all that. you simply have to set it up the reminders when you create events. As for the weather, if you add the weather calendar to your google calendar, it will also show the weather forecast for each day.

calendar reminders only reminds you when there is a specific time to it. if there a note in calendar with a date then it does not remind you.
besides adding weather calendar is good but if you have more notes or reminders in a day then it does not show you(widget)
like i said, i want an app like personal assistant reminding me through voice. when i wake up at 6am, it should show and read weather forecast, news, events and birthdays and stuff. i know am asking way too much, but i just want to know if anything like this is there or not.
worldmate application is pretty close to that, just it needs to add more features but it won't cause it's a travel application.
thanks
