Just wondering blasjw, what's your microSD capacity and class? I'm wondering because I suspect X10 operation smoothness highly depends on this as its internal capacity is very limited. So far the highest class for 32gb is 4 which might explain why I don't share your experience with the device in tems of smoothness. FYI I've already JIT my X10 and installed AutoKiller to optimise performance but that hasn't helped much. Don't get me wrong, the device is relatively smooth, but not buttery smooth like iPhone 4 as you described
Actually, I'm just using the stock 2G microSD that came with it. I didn't say it was smooth, I said it was snappier. That just means it's seems quicker. That's just my opinion.
Your x10 only came with a 2GB card?

Hi ppl,
I am intending to buy this phone from plemix.com US. But i saw that their package content does not list the 8GB memory card and the pouch. Has anybody who have bought the X10 from plemix lately or before can confirm about the pouch and the memory card?
Thanks
Zulfi

Okay so far, what I'm reading about the new Gingerbread update ain't bad at all, sure they be some things removed, but more are being added. but let's say if when I updated to the Gingerbread, but don't like it as much as I thought, will I be able to downgrade back to 2.1? I know Xperia x10 wasn't able to do that, but with these custom roms and having cracked the x10 Bootloader, will that change? Would I possibly be able to downgrade my android version at will?
btw, even though Mediascape slows down the phone, I thought it was a great feature that makes SE Xperia x10 stands out among the other android phones. Able to search music, photos and videos all in one app, as well as able to search via web for other works by the same artists, like on youtube. Would that be removed along with Mediascape, or is there a certain alternative with Gingerbread and the Arc and Neo?
Also, I'm looking for an apps that I can use for my hotmail and gmail account. I hate the pre-installed email app that doesn't able you to delete mail from the account, only on the one sent to your phone, then when you get online, there it is again, mail you already read and deleted from your phone. If there is a good app for that, that enable full access and sync, notify me. I recently got my ipod to be able to do that with it's pre-installed email app. Maybe I'm missing something from the email app on android?

@Big_D
You can downgrade if you have your phone rooted and you have one of the dycrypted ROMs downloaded from xda (anywhere else that has some). Then all you need to do is flash the original SE ROM in using flash tool.
The only thing is, we don't know if the SE gingerbread update will be rootable because it's not here yet. I'm sure it won't take long for someone to root it though. There's a lot of very skilled people out there doing these things for fun.
The email thing is down to using IMAP or POP3 I think (I may be wrong). POP3 will download a copy and store it on your handset, leaving the mail-server untouched. With IMAP servers the mail is stored on the server, only headers are stored locally and the body is downloaded on demand (unless you specifically save it locally). Both have pros and cons, but for what you describe it sounds like you're on POP3 instead of IMAP. Dunno if the in-built client handles IMAP (I use Gmail app as I only use gmail) but it should.
Google supports both. When I last used hotmail it supported neither (it as a long long time ago). Things have probably changed.

I am pretty happy with current Android OS : is the gingerbread the current update alert from SE or a forthcoming one?
I'll hold off until I hear good things after a couple of weeks of people playing about with Ginger'
Incidentally: Does SE or another supplier have a better quality stereo head set with controller?
Also, is there a blue tooth dialer available on the market? ie key pad.

Hey guys!!
Am looking at getting an X10 from plemix.com. In the plemix's website, it mentions that the X10 has a 4" crystal clear OLED touchscreen. I thought X10 has a TFT touchscreen. Even another vendor called gsmnation also lists it as 4" crystal clear OLED touchscreen. Has SE changed the hardware? or just these vendors want to quickly sell these X10s by saying that the X10 has a OLED touchscreen? |
