It means so long as you are on their WAP/mobile site, you will not be billed. Once you browse to any other site, 35k per kb starts being deducted from your account.

Not a little expensive, a lot expensive. Nobody will use it over mtn or celtel. |

I dont tink Etisalat wants 2 focus on data cos 35k/kb is high nd not in tune wit current market price of 15k/kb.maybe they re focusing on massive rollout nd other services.but in actual fact every network should hav an area of speciality nd not jack of all trade master of none.the tariff 4 their voice cal on the home zone is cool.

@Dawny: Eti's internet tariff is nonsense. I have 3.6mbps at 15k per kb already. I have to be mad to switch to 384kbps at 35k per kb. Thankfully, my senses are okay.

Lucky you, dawny! I was at Saka Tinubu's Visafone store when I read your message and one of the attendants confirmed that there is a package like that.

Starcomms also have something similar. One church in Abuja is trying it with their Pastors and other leaders. But the leaders have to foot their bills. I also travelled from Lagos with one of the Transporters and the driver answered over twenty calls on his visa because of the same feature. All the drivers had the lines so they could talk for so long and endanger our lives.
What I am not sure about is: Do ALL have to pay 1.5k monthly or only one of them for the feature to work well?
As for me and madam, we are Reltel/Zoomers and will wait until they catch the bug. 1.5k /mo to talk to my wifey all day is pretty tempting. 1.5k I said, not 3.0k!
@Oluyom: You asked about my web properties? I guess I am on a long recess. I am happy your site is doing a lot to keep us informed. As Hancock would say, "Good job! Good Job!"

@artwales: Vendor buys airtime PIN in bulk from various network operators, then commissions a web developer to set up a complex ecommerce site. The site is:
- integrated with a members area (where users register, and login to make purchases)
- integrated with an online payment system (e.g. Interswitch)
- shopping cart that ties the above two together and with the following:
- integrated with an SMS gateway, so purchased airtime PIN is sent by SMS to a specified phone number
- integrated with a mailing system, so that transactions and PIN are also mailed to buyer
That's pretty how it works.

Would you happen to know a web developer that can undertake this sort of project? |

@artwales: Alireta (www.alireta.com) undertakes this sort of job. We have developers on our team that have done the sort.
