What exactly you like about X10 over iPhone?
So far, I've found quite a few things I like about it over the iPhone:
- Uses a standard micro usb port for charging & data.
- User removable battery.
- Micro SD slot.
- 3 hardware navigation buttons + a camera button instead of only one.
- Better notifications.
- Seems snappier in many respects.
- Handles incoming calls properly when connected to the bluetooth handsfree in my car stereo. i.e. Defaults to the handsfree instead of the handset like my iPhone 4 did (very annoying.).
- Getting reports of much better voice quality from people I'm talking to when I'm using various bluetooth handsfree devices.
- Much more open - not chained to iTunes, easy to flash, custom roms, etc..
- Built-in real-time stock application - Finance.
- Better integration with Gmail, Picasa, and Facebook.
- Better camera and flash.
- Built-in GPS turn by turn navigation application.
- Detailed battery usage info.
- Comes in both white and black.
What else am I missing?
even the speed of UI is better in X10? wow that's a surprise to me but always wanted to understand better why apple users liked X10.
Enjoy your X10 and with 2.3 update am sure there is a lot more to it now
Thanks for your reply!

Don't tease about that kind of stuff man. My phone still has a flight and a couple more trucks before it's in my hands..

Yeah, I was surprised too but I did find the UI on the X10 to be snappier in most cases. A couple more things I've noticed:
- X10's transflective display is *much* better in direct sunlight than the retina display.
- Android has better integration with Google Talk as expected. |

Only thing I don't like about software is Gmail application. It has a lot of limit and you cannot copy the text from the application which really sucks.
Hopefully that should happen on 2.3 update.

@Harribolman The X10 doesn't have standalone apps for music/photos/videos so you won't find shorcuts to add in directly. On the ARC the apps for music/video/photos are standalone so it works for them. If you want standalone apps there are ways to get the stock android music/photo/video apps on the X10. In my opinion, the stock apps are faster and prettier too.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the replies and help.
I'm new to modding the phone this much, so the help is great! I noticed that when I first installed the Arc Launcher that pressing the Home button would give me an option as to which Launcher to choose, the X10 or the Arc. After a day I then choose the Arc as default, with the knowledge that I can change it back in Applications/Manage Applications, however I need guidance as to where to go from there, because I don't see the program to manage it!
I am currently using Home Switcher to go back to the X10 launcher, but I'd still like to know how I can remove the default setting that operates directly from the Home Button. Thanks again.

Other options are to search the Andeoid maeket for Gallery Shortcut and download that.

Hi ppl,
I am intending to buy this phone from plemix.com US. But i saw that their package content does not list the 8GB memory card and the pouch. Has anybody who have bought the X10 from plemix lately or before can confirm about the pouch and the memory card?
Thanks

Good point, I noticed that myself. I think Android 2.3 should fix that. BTW, another thing I noticed today about the X10 is that it doesn't drop calls like my iPhone 4 did. There are two or three places between my home and work where the iPhone would consistently drop. Looks like the X10 isn't having that problem. |

Just wondering blasjw, what's your microSD capacity and class? I'm wondering because I suspect X10 operation smoothness highly depends on this as its internal capacity is very limited. So far the highest class for 32gb is 4 which might explain why I don't share your experience with the device in tems of smoothness. FYI I've already JIT my X10 and installed AutoKiller to optimise performance but that hasn't helped much. Don't get me wrong, the device is relatively smooth, but not buttery smooth like iPhone 4 as you described

Actually, I'm just using the stock 2G microSD that came with it. I didn't say it was smooth, I said it was snappier. That just means it's seems quicker. That's just my opinion. |

I highly recommend you throw in a Froyo custom ROM to your X10 until SE release Gingerbread.

Yep Bono, Mediascape along with its Face Recognition service (the main culprits) will be removed ,Moxier is also going, so the X10 will not only be much faster but also smoother.
