You can't honestly expect optical zoom in a thin smartphone? |

Prime lenses are always better than zoom ones, besides a zoom optics would make the device extremely bulky if it had it built-in, jut look at galaxy camera, who knows Sony might have already thought about giving that a possibility though other means

Can anybody all but confirm the specs of the Togari yet I know it's all educated guesses and tip from sources that have been correct in the past and if half of the specs are true the phablet will be a monster wonder if Shamsung are keeping tabs on Sony's New powerhouse
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

I think we should be using focal length multiplier instead to determine the magnification instead of using the noobish (number + X) measuring scheme
A 2/3" sensor would yield a cropping factor of 3.6 so to output a 50x magnification in 35mm equivalent it'd require a massive lens with 486mm (1,750mm in full frame equivalent)focal length what's more if it's variable zoom type and not a prime, the size would be even much bigger O_O and that's still without the necessary IS system, AF motor and zoom barrels, that'd make the phone extremely bulky, and I bet the lens would be thrice the weight of the phone itself when carried

I don't!!!
A smartphone with interchangeable lenses would perhaps be the most pointless device ever made.
Better off making a camera with basic 3G connectivity and Wi-fi. |

^^ LOL why so serious?
On the other hand, Honami will be Sony's show-off device so why not?

^
Also, is there anything new/special the new sensor will be able to do like pixel binning? |

Also did i miss something new about the lens, or are we at:
- Sony G lens
- Stabilisation: Optical Steadyshot XR2
- Max apperture: f2 or f2.2, "probably"
- zoom: honestly i do not need on the phone
I would like to see but f2 + 2.13 micron pixel should give a very good quantity of light captured per pixel on existing sensor already right?
Maybe no need for stabilisation in many use case already.
Add in the mix a new sensor tech that is hopefuly ahead of competiton, and it should be very satisfactory.
