SONY XPERIA Rumors 2014 |

It's all because Fuel isn't compatible with Android, and I think Nokia said once that they're not planning Android support...
I think having multiple sensors in the phone is good, but the wristband is good also, as you don't have to carry the phone in your hand or pocket... specially if the wristband can store it's data locally and sync. with your mobile by NFC+BT, BT LE, or all...
But I really hope Sony integrate at least a pedometer in it's phones so we can track every step even when not wearing that wristband...
I'm just waiting for Next SmartWatch with BT LE support, I was disappointed with SW2 by not supporting BT LE... thought the battery life of the watch is good as a smart watch ... the BT will eat the battery of the connected phone... BT LE will be a good solution for both as it will increase both battery life... and also will enable Sony to have WiFi in the smart watch for demanding tasks like taking remote photo or video

Just found a nice concept of the upcoming "Z1s" (Z1 refresh) via twitter: http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/itsoku/imgs/e/8/e8e2d1a4.jpg
the designer seem to listen to the rumors and made realistic design. in my opinion, he should shrink/relocate the SONY logo a bit to the center of bezel be in the proportion of the rumored thinner bezel but apart of that it still looks nice. can a water proof phone accommodate this bezel dimensions? or is it too thin for a waterproof construction, big battery, big camera sensor, etc.? what do you think?

I think Sony showed what they can do to the bezels when they launched the Z and ZL. Rather than go ZL they went the Z route and kept the phones waterproof which is good, it's a good way to separate themselves from the competition. Talking to some engineers, they say that smaller bezels on a waterproof device would compromise the device but you could do a full front wrap around screen as a single component, not like the current design where the front and back are held together by the metal sides. |

I think an 'active' (smart not sports) wristband is a good intermediary step towards smartwatches. With smartwatches, for once, manufacturers have outdone themselves and started producing product categories ahead of the public acceptance of the need for such an item.
Generally people don't see the purpose of buying a watch when they've just got used to not wearing one and using their phone for the time. Now they're being told to buy watches again and it's too soon. The smart wristband is a good way to get the youngest generations of gadget lovers into the idea that something on your wrist might be useful when used in conjunction with your phone/tablet.
@badassmam like the original ipod mini only flat edges and full glass front?

Been using the Z1f for a few days. They have a different implementation of the Stamina mode. Instead of adding apps to the whitelist, you have to add apps to a blacklist, which does not make sense at all.
Anyway, anyone know about Canopus?

@yuunanase I would guess it has many of the updates stated as being included in the 4.3 updates rolling out now plus a few other changes

@badassmam
Interesting. so it means one part glass that wraps the whole phone? or they just go back to the Z construction which i guess will happen.
@BenLing
i agree he probably didn't invest time in it, but it's looks like a realistic design unlike other design that they make the device with a thickness of Z Ultra which won't happen cause of smaller dimensions, etc.

@BenLing
Looks real as real can get. wouldn't change anything.
i see you also made a Z2 concept: http://www.concept-phones.com/?s=ben+ling
everything looks in proportions and in waterproof body. one thing, i bet they will keep the notification led on the top and headphone jack on the right.

Xperia Z1S (Sirius): Should be presented at CES 2014 and is destined for the American market. 5.2" screen, based on the same technical specifications of the Z1.
AND...
Xperia Z2 (Canopus): Release in May? Should be equipped with a Snapdragon 800 or Snapdragon 805, Sony apparently will stick to 5" screen.

It's something...
