Does Aino support Flash animation as start up image?
Start up image? Do you mean SE logo as start up image??? If yes, then yes it's an animation image with more colours |

No, I mean after you enter your password. And not just an animation, but a Flash ( .swf ) animation.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

It definitely could for many people, and you'll find it is miles a head of the W800i. For me it probably wouldn't because mobile phones never quite match mp3 players for sound quality, which is what I'm after. Most people probably wouldn't mind though.
so your Sony NW-X1050 sounds better then the Aino?
cos as you it is sound I am after. |

I wish I knew. I don't have a flash animation to test it with. It does support videos in the startup screen.

Yes my Sony sounds better than Aino. There are very few phones in the world that can match the sound quality of a dedicated MP3 player, just like very few phones match the camera picture quality of a dedicated compact digital camera. So I don't expect any phone to be the highest quality, but for a phone Aino is very good.
My Sony Walkman is considered by reviewers to be one of the best in the world for sound quality, so I hardly think a phone would match or beat that!

It doesn't. Aino comes with several flash animations preinstalled in the pictures folder so I attempted to set one as the start-up screen but there was no option to do so unfortunately, even when going through the display options menu.

Aino beat the X-series Walkman? Not a chance, it's THE portable music player atm. It could though, come close or even match some of the other Sony Walkman models. I know my W995 can.

How's the slider? I have the W995a... Mine wobbles a bit, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Back cover is also kinda strange, not the best build quality imo.
How is it with the Aino? I know there have been some posts on it, but now that people has had it for a while, it might give a better picture of it.
Currently NExus 4, but want Xperia ZR. |

thats is what i was reading about your player ... but as i wrote my old MP3 from sony was not as good as the player in the W800i ... so i was hoping the Anio did have the best player too |

It's a marketing strategy, if Sony accept that SE phones have same or better mp3 quality than dedicated Sony Mp3 players,so nobody would buy dedicated mp3 players! Same thing for cameras...
Personally I never used a phone as mp3 player,I have a premium quality player : Samsung P2 (and hopefully P3) and I pair it using bluetooth with my phone so I never miss a call

My slider wobbles a little in a rocking motion but only when it's open. When it's closed it's snug as a bug. There's no sideways or rotating wobble like on my C905, but it does feel like it rattles a little when it's open and I'm holding the keypad (e.g. when texting) I think it's because of the huge screen sliding a long way.

My slider is very very solid. The most solid I've experienced on a phone. There is the slightest movement but we're talking 10ths of a millimeter, that sort of thing. I think it would be near impossible to make a slider that has absolutely no movement anyway. So I am very pleased.
The back cover is a snap-on style with no chance of movement unless you broke the little plastic tabs off, so it's very good too.

Well I took the plunge & did the new firmware update last night.
I have not noticed any major additions but have definatley noticed a lot of speed improvement with regards to menus & "saving" after taking a picture with camera.
The touchscreen media player also seems a lot more stable & doesn't stutter like it used to.
Other than that I can't see any difference.
The biggest annoyance for me which they still haven't added back in to the software is the option to change messages from "activity menu" to "pop up". |
