it didn't great at focusing with the original camera driver but you can have great detail with the manual driver, but one thing i have noticed is that after you have taken your photo, you see the photo for a second, then the photo almost "shrinks itself" and it looks better before "shrinking" is this compression or what? have you experienced this too?
@ Raiderski
this is what mriley said and this is what we are experiencing with c901..i think that compression process (or filtering) impacts the quality of the photo. it seems that much better quality could be achieved but this one second after the photo was taken but not saved yet seems to look much better than the one that is already saved. don't know how to explain this better but it seems that some kind of filtering is going on |

Its nothing to worry about, its just the photo being re-sized to fit the screen , dont think it affects quality

Yes,that is. It is just for best fitting on the screen.
To check to quality in (re)view mode, just push once to zoom in.

I've just made a little focusing test. I tryed to focus on the sreen of my pc. And I haven't managed to get any well-focused picture. When the phone focuses on the screen, I see, that it goes through the right focusing point, but it doesn't stop there, just a little bit later. So it focuses to a closer distance, and after the focusing is done, if I bring the phone closer to the screen I can make a good shot.
Could anyone try this?... but with the camera button, not the D pad.
I try to remember, but before changing the language pack -and updating to R1GA028 from R1EA033- I think I haven't had any major problem with focusing. Face detection has also worked fine, but now with face detection is almost impossible to get a well focused picture. |

The focusing problem doesn't matter anymore now we have manual focus

Yes, I know, but someone say that there is no problem -and I think, that if I had the previous firmware I would say that too-, but some uf us say that focusing doesn't work perfectly. So I'm just curious who is facing the same problems like me...
And I think I won't install modded driver on my phone, just hope that after an update the focusing will be fine again. -if there will be any update soon. |

yep there is issue with focusing and if you read this thread you'll see that you are not the only one here with the same problem...and we are all hoping for an update (if you are not going to install modded camdriver) |

But at least have you already reported to Sony Ericsson? Otherwise we can't expect focusing to be better in updates. |

Is there any way to mod or patch a C901 to make it easier to email a full-sized high-resolution picture you just took? For example, I have to do this now:
Take picture
Exit camera mode
Enter media menu
Select photo menu
Select photo
Hit up
Select email
After you take a picture, your only instant sending options are Facebook (which I don't use), a picture message (which resizes) or to web site (which also resizes and defaults the subject line to DSC00###.JPG). This makes it a pain if you're planning on taking lots of pics and sending them to Flickr or wherever. I wonder why e-mail is not an immediate option? If I could replace the Facebook option with an email option (defaulted to high resolution) that would be awesome.
I also wish there way an immediate way to turn macro on and off with a key shortcut, instead of cycling through the menu.
Those are my only real complaints though, I really like using it so far. |

You can select "document" mode which activates the macro but it makes it really bright.

well well, I'm impressed by this tiny camera eye it survived in good shape comparision with modded K800 in low-light but of course had no chance when K800 was in longer exposure modes nevermind, it has big potential even when unmodded. I made a comparision in daylight too, not much to be excited about because weather sucks here - white/dirty snow, gray sky and buildings
