@zootzoot Thats just an alternative to Intelliscreen, it's not a theme as such. To install themes, you'll need to install Winterboard first from Cydia, and then you can install any theme you want either from Cydia (browse the Themes folders) or download any Winterboard theme from the net and dump it in /var/stash/THEMES/* (although i'm aware you may not be fully aware of SSHing in to your iPhone! )

Once you've downloaded a theme, you'll need to apply it in Winterboard...then exit and bobs your uncle

No for that method you have to use a program on your PC to dump the themes in, like WinSCP

This is only if you want to do it this way

The easier way would be to look in Cydia for themes and download themes that way. There loads to choose from

Yeah Intelliscreen is awesome. The best application i've installed since QuickGold. For one thing though? I'd say it's not worth it just for one thing...

You're more likely to kick yourself when you jailbreak tomorrow, and then Apple release 2.2 on Wednesday... (not saying it will be Wednesday, but it's looking fairly imminent).

I'd take newer/better firmware over some fancy wallpaper any day of the week. Besides, the Iphone's home screen is a design classic, why mess with it at all?

i could never use this phone unjailbroken, there are too many little basic flaws that jailbraking solves, and i have grown used to it
if 2.2 comes out i would rather wait till its jailbroken before updating, i think i can survive without google sidewalk and podcast downloads for a few days

If the newer firmware is more valuable to me to unjailbreak it then so be it, i would go back but unless it's going to have core functionality with regards to MMS, and SMS functions etc and not stuff that is pointless to me then i would totally agree with you.

The whole iphone design is class and i wouldnt change many things.

It seems this a common misconception where jailbreaking is concerned. Generally people believe that the only advantage of jailbreaking is for a few themes. As mentioned jailbreaking releases a whole load of functionality that was missed out (mms, sms fwd/delete, etc etc)

This firmware really isnt gonna bring anything to the table other than some fancy google maps, and the current 2.1 is the most stable since 1.1.4 so i'm more than happy to stay where i am at the moment. It won't be long before 2.2 is jailbroken as the same exploit used in previous firmware versions is still working, so nothing has been written in to the firmware to try and combat this....it'll be a case of a few days before the jb is released

2.1 seems pretty solid on the whole, but I'm getting slightly annoyed with the Safari crashes, which I'd hope 2.2 would solve (it certainly contains some cosmetic changes to Safari, so hopefully it'll address the stability issues too).

I know the list of tweaks that jailbreaking can allow (better SMS etc) but in all honesty, I'm not too fussed by any of those issues. I'm all for better firmware though.

Yeah the safari crashes annoy me too. What also annoys me is the fact it has a problem remembering passwords, like for instance logging in to Esato... log in once, click PM's and have to log in again, hit reply and you have to enter your password again before sending the message then to view PM's again you have to log in once more. Pain in the bum!

Also what would be a better update for Safari would be to bring out flash support rather than a 'permanantly there' google box. Pointless imo.

Actually I think that is a problem with the forum. I often get that.
