Listen lets get one thing here straight,
No Matter what people say to me i am in no way offended. I was the first to get the P700 (p1i) and show pictures here on Esato and the first to do a mini review on the W960i after the announcement and both devices have been posted all over the net once it was mentioned on Esato. Now just because i cannot post pictures or give much info about the next P series, does not mean i am offended in any way, i honestly wish i could show pictures and give full specs but not possible this time unfortunately.
You may have also noticed that i have never given 10/10 to any pictures photoshopped so far which means no image is 100% accurate, which is what i've been told to do so by people watching over me. Now i just hope announce the P5i or whatever its called on the 15th, if not then soon after!!!!!
So overall no offence here, just wish i could've done more (if permitted).

when all i said was still pro towards you
anyway lets get back on topic :
some questions about the colors that the device comes with is it black or are there a verity of colors (hoping for a black)
and does it come with a stylus or is it really not needed? |

give me a break i toyed around with the N95 and i dont think its that different from the 8GIGs version and its nowhere near impressive
plus the P5 shouldn't be competing against a non touchscreen phone |

That's true. Whereas Nokia is aggressive with their N95 adds, SE seems to concentrate their tiny campaign on walkman phones. Honestly, I can't see any big success for P5 with the form factor that is expected as it does not provide anything more than its competitors do. The Tytn has already began to establish itself in partnership with a major operator, with the P990 disaster behind it I doubt people will be willing to be early adopters of the P5.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

Sorry but what are you talking about the N95 8gb is vastly different to the original forget about the larger brighter screen and even the extra 64mb of Ram. It is the first Symbian device to offer demand paging a feature that was not expected till Symbian 9.3 or even 9.5. and if you don't know what that means then read up on it before making silly comments.
If you don't like Nokia and don't want to buy one no problem buy what ever you want but silly comments are really unnecessary, but as a N series device it will really compete with the W960 when it arrives. Although with the SU-8W keyboard it is more than capable of performing business tasks although it is a Multimedia focused device.

This topic caught my eye, when i was curising around on gsmarena. Let me just say this, N95 wont be any competition for it... Why? Because it was released long time ago, and its been in market for more than 1 year. Nokia sold about 6million units of;nseries. majority being n95. P5i(if its real) will compete directly with Nokia's coming Touch UI. Believe it or not; S60 is the best OS for cellphones, it has been matured for a very long time. UIQ 3 is horrible, when it comes to aftermarket support. I bought P990, and only good thing on that was its camera. Without any support for OS, P5i(again, if its real) is not getting anywhere, and the fact that popularity that p990 recieved after it was released was not very good to say the least. Sony lost tons of its customer after p990. Beside all this, nokia just announced there N95 8GB in august? and its already out. Where sony is just horrible with its launch dates. By the time we get to see the next P-series, we'll have tons of new competitors. Obviously this is all been speculated with Sony past history, if they release this 2-4 months after announcement, things could turn out different. My 2 cents.. |

@dogmann
i dont hate Nokia i dont hate any cellphone manufacturer i simply critic phones that are really getting too much attention when all they can do is a bit altered from what others could do besides its up to the user friendly UI to determine the success of a certain mobile and frankly i dont see how N95 8gig differs from the original (black bigger screen and an even smaller D-pad than it had)
N95 will never be a competitor to P5i as it is a QWERTY and TS business phone where N95 is aiming directly to multimedia purposes and its nowhere near comfortable to use my friend not hardware wise nor software wise with all the crashes and lags and battery life
have you even tried the D-pad and the slide mechanism
it is a tech guru / monster or whatever but sometimes more is less and less is more
i dont have any restrictions regarding which brand to purchase my history with cellphones is more than capable of showing that :
nokia 7710/3510/6230i (i hoped to get E90 but to pricey) and other old ones. Moto E398 Samsung D500 and D600 SE w800i and currently W850i
and i still have most of them (still loving the E398)
any way back to the subject i just wanted to prove im not prejudiced

Agree with you.

I appreciate your input and viewpoint but it's always funny for me that Nokia-advocate jumps all of the sudden and tries to beat SE again and again.
It's your right, no offence.
But understand, besides your said story with P series there's like my story of a content - extensive - user of P990 which is rock stable and reliable. And I admire Nokia in many ways - they're pioneers in many cases - but their politics are equally controversial, like make fans pay high price and quickly release updated product (6220/6230, N93/93i, N95/95 8GB). |

Although i am a loyal customer of SE, bought the P800 then moved on to P900 and the P910 and now i am on the P990 which i never had any major issues with it...ok memory was and never is enough but learnt how to manage that issue and its barely noticeable now...
But...this whole thread reminds me of the P990 drama where everybody was so excited about the device even when it wasn't even announced by SE. And that it was going to be the top-spec device that everybody was going to love and then came the big flop of delaying the device for months and months.
SE is infamous for delaying the release of their mobiles, which is where the problem lies. All of their smartphones with the exception of P1 offered cutting edge technology and design, on the date they were announced. Then came the delays, again and again, and of course all the other manufacturers have managed to get to the market their mobiles that surpass the SE ones.
I mean look at Nokia, they announce a phone one day and then next day you already see it on the shelves! I never liked Nokia phones, but they deliver on their promises (most times).
So to my point, why announce a device now if its not going to be available until after 6 months?
