Final (design) prototip should be decided during this month, or it may even be done, don't know for sure. There will be either slim version with a camera hump, or a slightly thicker phone overall but without the hump. Hoping for the latter.
@Ramu, thanx for the details.
if slim version and thicker phone overall got the same battery 3000 mah..surely choose slim version with a camera bump..
if thicker 1 got more mah sure choose thicker 1... |

Completle same specs for both designs, but I would agree with JoJotaro.
Seems like Ramu could resolve which design was chosen, if his source had the final model. |

Similar to how Z was described as being a "giant iphone", Honami also looks like an Iphone without the button. The bottom has more rounded corners. No very clearly noticeable hump at the back for the camera. Doesn't APPEAR thick i.e. the design masks the thickness very well.
Front is glass. Back and sides appear to be metal, even the port flaps are metal (or appear like metal? )

Carbon fibre doesn't really feel that nice in the hand though.... |

Magnesium alloy body would be awesome, given that it's going to be very expensive
Then later on we might see some torture tests like putting it on fire like what other magnesium built devices are usually subjected to (Canon 7D, Nikon D3s etc)

Incidentally, we know the sensor is 3/2", but what is the pixel pitch? As far as I'm concerned it must be larger than 2 Microns. I don't want 20 useless MegaPixels, 13MP with very large pixel pitch is much better for both daylight and nighttime photography and a higher dynamic range due to increased light sensitivity. |

First it's 2/3" or 1/1.5" second, Sony had already proven many people wrong when they released RX100 with 20MP just as it was pitted against Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras and match it(if not outperformed) it pixel per pixel. sensor technology constantly improves, for instance how can you explain the some new Sony cameras outperforming old ones even with smaller pixel pitch? a great example would be comparing the 20MP A58 vs the old A700 or the old 24MP A900 and the new 24MP A99, when we look for some reviews, Sony's advancements in sensor tech made the new completely blow out the old ones in water in terms of image quality. also Image processing also plays a big role for the quality improvement, and since we're talking about Honami rumored to have BIONZ chip, there's pretty good chance they would have worked on the issue already. if the engineers who are working on Honami's camera were the ones responsible for the design and production of Sony's award winning cameras like RX series and the A99, then I don't think Honami's camera will be crap at any rate

Hi all,
I am currently using iphone, i found the forum a few month ago, felt like registering today.
I will buy a Sony phone for my next purchase:) (99% chance)
I liked the Z and went to see it several times at docomo shop, but I wanted to wait for a snapdragon 800 device...
Very exited about the Honami!
I wanted to post this pic i found on the web about togari, it is probably fake but don't blame me at least it is phone and rumour discussion:)
Sorry can only paste the link with ios right now, if someone can add the pic later.
Cheers!

That looks like an iPhone outer with Xperia SP earpiece and sensors pasted on top. I think the author just didn't have an image to pt to his article so manufactured something.

The RX100 has the benefit of significantly better optics at disposal. And the sensor on the Honami STILL isn't anywhere near as large as the one in the RX100 or any of the APS-C or FF sensors in the rest of their cameras. This is a camera in a smartphone, so pixel pitch is much more important than it would be on something like the RX100 or Nikon J1. What's the point of having a bigger sensor if you're going to fill it with 20MP with similar pixel pitch to the 13MP Exmor RS. All you'll end up with, is a higher resolution image, with no increase in low-light sensitivity.
13MP @2/3", to me is a whole lot better than 16 or 20MP @2/3". |

I think it will be 13mp because random said it will have 2.13 microns bt nt sure
