I haven't been to the Hartebeestpoort Dam for over 13 years. We used to go on the bikes for a 'breakfast run' to a cafe there called 'Stywe Lyne' , I think. Not sure if it's still there.
There was always guys dicing along a stretch of road by 'The Bridge.'

I've never been to Sun City though; would like to still see the legendary place.

@ Siosal,
So you're one of the Vista pioneers...pardon my ignorance here, but wouldn't it have been better to wait until Vista has had a more proven stability/glitch-free track record ie. time for them to sort out any bugs, or is it in your line of work?
Anyway, good luck mate; let us know how you get on.

@Siosal: Vista does look promising but I doubt I'll make the switch...would rather wait a year and that will probably mean a new PC.

So today we took a drive with some friends out to the Addo National Elephant Park. We got there quite late, after the elephants had visited the main watering hole, but as we had gone with the intention of having a picnic it was all good.

This, however, made the trip absolutely worthwhile.

Somebody who's probably a regular user of that particular stretch of road must've been pretty gatvol to have this sign professionally made up, and then applied to the info board...

Gotta love eBay. One of a myriad of Far East GSM handsets advertised, this model by CECT has a ...wait for it... 'Spy Voice Changer' function.
Give me strength...

@da krypsta: That pic is bloody priceless...I know the Eastern Cape lacked some infrastructure but potholes on either a provincial road is not on...can't remember the last time I encountered a bad national road.

Brix the roads in SA are getting worse year after year. I have traveled 5200km during my holiday a which ended a week ago. Half finished jobs are scattered all over the country. Mozambique's main roads does not look that bad anymore. Sadly is not Mozambique getting better :( Did you chaps hear (a few days ago) about a 6 years old boy found next to the road - one testicle ? Now that's bad enough but at least he made the news. Yesterday a 'lady' gave birth in a village close to Jeffrey's and killed the newboren by closing it in a rubbish plastic bag. This incident did not even make the local news :( Very probably I will not post until after the new year. So 'happy new year' to all of you - Karim included ;)

Ye our roads are crap, on our way to sun city on a 80km straight rd I couldnt even take a sip of my coke without messing

I saw an ad with tyre insurance, good idea for SA car owners.

And speaking of ads, anyone see the FNB ad with the Englishman at the airport telling some nagging SA citizen how we should have faith in our country?

@786KBR: Did you take a sip on your coke while driving?
Any news on the availability of the W950 on local shores?

I Have one, its a grape colour unbranded, mmmmm not a fan.

Lacks button IMO, but then again its a touch screen.
Much nicer than a M600 in the looks department, features inside should be the same.

Havent used it for very long, wasnt in the mood

I think that the former government/s never foresaw that there would be this many vehicles on the road. Nor were our roads ever meant to be so heavily abused by heavy freight-carrying vehicles... I agree with Wanqa though, that Peddie road is terrible... and then one so often encounters the "Survivor Cap d'Est" type of driver there... either going too fast or too slow, or on the wrong side of the road, or without lights, etc etc.
