Hey good seeing you again on the thread...speaking of applications I need to check what Nokia has got on their site, I've only been there once and didn't like their wap portal for the N-series...it looks very busy but they're not saying much.

Very busy at the mo, but just a few things.

Firstly, I learnt a new word there too, although reading 'gamut' in context clearly meant a collective noun of sorts. I really don't mind the odd verbose word or phrase around here; I enjoy expanding the vocab and both da brixsta and Kryptik in particular have caught me with a word here and there. If we were verbose too often, we would be shooting ourelves in the foot and putting people off; as it is I think we have a good balance. I like to mix with some colloquils while occasionally playing with such a rich, expansive language at times...indeed variety be the spice of life!!!

@ jmash,
Ya mfowethu, we're all busy I guess, but wait 'til Francois is back from his field work..
Also, I find taking pics with the phones and sharing them, particularly if there is a lull in the thread, helps to keep things ticking over, apart from the non-cellphone banter around here as well, whether it be from Smarties to cricket, politricks to old SA programmes... Yeah, gotta love this place; how much richer in knowledge are we from hangin' around here?

@ medusa,
Have a BRIL Christmas and New Year!

Right, gotta run again; see ya'll later.

Did anybody notice that it's the Summer Solstice today? Lekker loooong day, lol, altho one doesn't really notice it..

And so we move on passed the Peruvian thread's post count and even higher up the site's thread ladder!
A Buzz Lightyear line suddenly comes to mind...

Right, this koevoet-of-a-choccie came courtesy of one of the kids in the class...gonna take a while to finish this one!
Taken with the old P900:
That's Mrs A's J300i next to the thing, to give some indicator of scale.

The W850s are again Branded but worst now, Voda has unbranded handsets with Branded software, so to end the call you have to press the back button and to view your calls you have to press the internet button.

I wonder whos behind all these stupid ploys!!!

Another rarity found on eBay...a new T600. It's locked to Virgin, but they're easy enough to unlock.
The bloke wants £35 (approx R490) on BIN, and he ain't cheap on postage costs. Still, for any collectors out there it's still a find:

@ Siosal,
LOL, I guess I just get quite a buzz finding new and interesting stuff, particularly along our lines of interests. I feed off knowledge and quests, and there's a whole world out there which I thrive on exploring.

Actually, it's mainly due to me setting up loads of pre-determined searches and filters on many sites, saved in subject-specific folders in my PC's favourites.
It's the only way that I have time to find most of the stuff, otherwise I'd be on the PC for most of the day and not get too much else done...we all know how quickly time goes when we're surfing the net.

As it is, I'm doing domestic chores around the house at the moment, inbetween checking out esato etc. It's a bit of a juggling act to esato, do things that need doing re work and house, having quality time with the better half (priority numero uno), etc etc.

Speaking of chores, every time I vacuum the carpets, I can't help but start doing a Freddie Mercury impersonation aound the house (an involuntary action?!) , a la the 'I Want To Break Free' music video by Queen, sans the skimpy lycra mini of course...

@da wanqsta: I'm having a throwback 80s moment as I'm sitting at my newspaper's end-of-year lunch. I also loved that Queen video, thinking about it I find it quite odd that the video never got banned on the old SAUK with it's strict interpretation of "sedes and morele waardes"...Went round to a store and almost bought a Best of George Michael album.

Just got back home; hopefully we've done the last of the Christmas shopping...crowded and manic shopping centres during the festive season isn't my idea of fun.

@ da brixsta,
Ja nee, I'm a sentimental 80's wanqa alright. Thinking back, you're right...it is surprising when you think how 'die SAUK' allowed vids like that to be aired. Wonder what they made of Freddie's attire in other Queen videos like 'It's a Hard Life' etc.
Speaking of George Michael, he recently held a freebie concert for nurses here; a 'thank you' for the support that the nursing fraternity gave his late mom.

I have some of his music in my collection, like A Different Corner and Father Figure amongst others.

I still remember when I heard Cameo for the first time, with the legendary 'Word Up'. What a wacky, catchy song it was, surely one of the true pioneers of early rap. It was on that TV music video programme called Fast Forward back in about '86. A mullet-sporting Alex Jay was one of the show's hosts, if memory serves me correctly.

I see you were in good (-looking) company, brixster...
BTW, what was she gesticulating with that hand/arm movement?

Brix, is that your colleague? If she's senior management i'd happily work under her anytime

Speaking of music shows, whatever happened to Karl Kikilus?

@da wanqsta: Indeed Susan is my colleague...one of several hot girls at work. She was basically trying to make a point, which explains the hand movement.
@da krypsta: End-of-year lunch was good, no-one "performed", as soon as they started getting pissed they left...including myself.
