After 3 years with Xperia XZ Premium a 1 II is mine. Very happy with it.
The phone is very slippery, so I bought a Terrapin TPU Gel case.

For the screen I bought PanzerGlass:

Congrats Maratonmannen!
I'm in the same boat. 3 years with XZP, which is having issues these days after all the times i've dropped it
Looking forward to receiving my 1ii. I need to copy a case online and print it with TPU. i plan on trying nano coating for the screen. hope it works!

good review from photo people
https://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/sony_xperia_1_ii_review
also a review comparing the 1 ii and s20u - I commented on their comments section about the "daylight" photo samples and in particular the cables from the pole - go look
https://www.androidauthority.[....]ny-xperia-1-ii-camera-1132818/
These were all taken and compared using the standard camera app which to me defeats the whole purpose
also there is now a night mode on 1 ii but has to be selected manually
I currently have a XZ2 Premium and buying a 1 ii would be a serious money drain for me considering it's been less than 2 years - I pay full price for phones ............................but I am seriously considering it, I have a "must have" voice in my head lol

dumbass reviewer who doesn't understand sony's aim at content creators, not an "average consumer".
if they are not using photo pro and using it correctly, then they aren't showing the true abilities of the 1ii's camera. junk review.
Geoff - where did you see the night mode as an available option to be selected?

saw the night mode in one of those reviews but as I said not auto - I believe that will come in the standard app later - no reason why not |

Hi everyone!
I know the Album app has gone! What are you using instead?
I tried to crop a photo with the phones apps but can't save to the sd card!
I know I can search but it's also good to hear others experiences!

they only mention it, but it is not a true night mode (i.e., a stand alone setting you can select and then just point and shoot). They are probably referring to DRO or HDR mode.
Ofiaiach - i just use google photos .. sadly. but i am fully integrated into the google ecosystem so its not too bad. let's me call up pictures onto my TV easily haha.

I've been using quickpic for years but don't know how that would integrate with the camera, I use it for viewing photos in my stored folders of pictures already taken not for the camera app itself, I like it because it has many options to include/exclude/hide folders |

Thanks moogoo! I will try again. Not sure why the image will not crop and save!

Thanks Geoffxx! I will check it out. Just need a quick crop, save and post for Facebook!
I found why I couldn't save! Option is to save a copy!

Anyone else struggling with the fingerprint scanner?
Sometimes the Xperia 1 II will not register my attempts when trying to unlock the phone.
There also seem to be the UI problem I have had since the Z3, where swipes will only be semi-registered, consequently won't compute the command I intend to do.

@McKinley - don't have mine yet so can't say. but even on my XZP, i notice if my thumb is too dry or too wet, it won't register. my thumb is also very calloused so sometimes it doesn't register for that reason as well. does it have issues with every finger you've registered or just the one? if it's just the one, then try re-registering it.
i haven't read about anybody having swipe UI problems. what exactly do you mean is the problem? Again, I have experience with swipes not registering because of calloused fingertips. Not sure if that's your problem too (maybe?) but just a thought.
