When you view the photos in file manager or media, the one you see first is resized with another method, and if you wait, after few seconds the picture looks worse, in spite of it's intended to be better, because then uses another resizing method to fit the picture to the screen. I don't think you could do anything to prevent it.
But it's a satisfation to know that focusing don't works perfectly for other people too. And if it can be controlled well by the manual focusing, then this problem can't be hardware related. So the focusing algorythm can be faulty or it isn't well optimized, and it's a software related problem.
All of us who thinks that focusing isn't that fine, should report to SonyEricsson, and ask about a software update.

You can make a great resizing with Irfanview. It's free.
You can download it from irfanview.com |

oh, ive just had an idea! Let me put it to the test
Exposure Compensation (EV) can be used to increase the shutter speed, i was trying earlier to get non xenon macro with a long shutter speed (1/2 twilight portrait) but it wouldnt work, but with EV set to the max it sets shutter speed to 1/2 which is longest shutter speed C901 can have atm, it doesn't change ISO but it changes exposure so thats good
What we need now is Lower ISO, non-xenon ISO and longer shutter speeds

i'm using fast stone image viewer,
it allows me to batch resize, batch edit, batch rename, even batch put watermark to my images with a single click.
it's a free program.
even used it to animate my pictures before.
the most important thing, it does not erase the exif data. |

@ mriley
i was writing here about the compresion of the photo after it's taken...seems like all of us are facing the same issue. the photo just taken before it's saved looks much better than when it's saved. so i would also like to find out whether this compression process could be improved or avoided to get better pics |
