i know the photo evidence says winmo 6.1,
but i thought part of the reason for the long release date was because MS were working on an interim winmo (6.5?) for this phone.
Kinda like a halfway house between 6.1 and 7?
Maybe i read and believe too much!

Some Sony batteries can be used in SE phones. Also note the name of the battery; BST-41.

I don't know but when this phone was announced, for me I wasn't as excited as when the w960 was announced.
Few things they should have included or considered in XPERIA
- memory. It could have been at least a gigabyte.
- camera could have been at least 5MP.
- they could have adopted the Walkman Touch Player from the w960. sure it runs on UIQ and since this phone is running on windows mobile, they could have made a Windows Media Player and Walkman Player hybrid. That would be hot! |

u cant have everything... they should mess up a smartfone with w feature imo, its way too "big" for that and not really handy to listen to music. also 5mp isnt a must for smart fones, for that take the k or the coming c series. but i agree, that more memory would have been welcome

Well seems like the WM home screen is still there. So the 9 panels eye-candy is just a app launcher and not a shell that replace the WM desktop. |

The panels are group of 9 desktops. Each dekstop has their own purpose, that means you could activate one of the them depensing on the situation you in.
if you're chillin, you activate the media desktop. you're at your college u activate the apps destop, you want to surt the net? activate the the Internet desktop. etc etc etc.

@Crumcon
X1 will not have a Walkman Player installed. Only the Windows Media Player. |

Hi all,
Well from those spy shots it appears it uses 41.97mb Ram just to load up and if you seriously think a 1500aMh Battery is going to last as long in a WM device as in a Symbian devcie you are going to be in for a nasty shock.
As to start with it alreday needs a 520mhz processor to run it which will use more power as well as that nice large 3" screen @800x480 which is also going to consume lots of power to, so it will indeed be interesting to see exactly what battery life the X1 gives once out in the real world with real usage.
Unless of course your all going to start suggesting turning off 3G and lowering the screen brightness to make it last longer again which defeats the whole purpose of upping the spec's in the first place doesn't it?

Marc,
May I remind you that you have no clue about how many applications could be running in the background? I can think of one already, and that's the XPERIA panels application, which doesn't seem like a light application.
