yes....you remember when you have got a new mobile and you shall install mms "software"........you install the "software"...you reboot....you send one mms to yourself...then it works ..........BUT sometimes you need to shut down your phone at least 30min (thats the time it takes for the mobile to reboot itself in the memorybank)...you can try that...maybe it works.

@ Plankgatan, yes I use the stabalizer all the time now.
Your pics are better than mine at night though! What settings did you use for them? I try to use twilight profile as shown here: ISO is AUTO this time but twilight profile is used
Had to put this through Photo DJ cos in the original there was more 'noise' on the dark area in the bottom left hand side of the picture. Oh and this was used using single flash, not red-eye reduction. Unfortunately the cat doesn't like flashes that much.

Yes i hope it's just the firmware that need some tweaking and fixing!
This pic look blurry/fuzzy on the edges on the flowers if you look closely(maybe one have to enlarge the pic to a more normal size to see. Perhaps that's a firmware issue.

This one is okay but has fuzzy edges on the flower.
(macro, auto mode)
blurry/fuzzy edges that you mentioned is because of lossy JPEG compression.
first the picture will be transformed from spatial(height and width) to frequency space, via fourier transform. then a lowpass filter will be applied. that means high-frequency information will be cut off. high-frequency information is about high variant regions i.e edges. then it will be transformed back to spatial with inverse fourier transform. now we have smaller image because some detail(that is not very important for human eye) are missing. this image will be compressed further with lossless LZ algorithm, though overall process is lossy, that's why you see those fuzzy edges.
NOTE: i simplified the process, for details read JPEG on Wikipedia.
sorry for my bad english.

for shoot better pictures i recommend:
1. don't touch ISO, let it be auto, the camera has better decision whether the ISO should be.
2. instead, play with EV(exposure value), it will affect ISO, but these two aren't the same.
3. use BestPic if possible.
4. if you end up with a washed out picture, try PhotoDJ(auto)
so all settings should be auto, only play with EV.
and two important rules are:

LEARN YOUR CAMERA....
ps...the light on a object is rule number 1
pss....adjust the whitness balance with your D-Pad..(strong sunshine -0.3 or -0.7........low light +0.3 or +0.7 )..thats rule number 2
thanks plankgatan

Yup. I took o night shot this evening and runned it through photo DJ and i prefered the shot before photo dj. It made the shot a little darker, perhaps in order to reduce a little distortion. But in this specific shot i prefered to seee more detail and keep the (little) distortion. It's as i said very often a matter of personal preference. But it's nice to have many options! Are those shots taken in England?
PhotoDJ will perform Histogram equalization in auto mode. play with EV and PhotoDJ, and see when PhotoDJ performs better.
