Stupid question:
Is there a list of changes for each software upgrade?
It is just a sw upgrade as for my pc or server. Is it a secret? Why?
Finally my r520 is now upgraded from R2A to R3B (the service did it silently during a battery replacement, faceplate destruction, etc.) The things I recognized since then:
* The phone finally recognizes callers and sms senders based on the last seven digits (my old ericsson was able to handle it years ago), so I don't have to store two mobile numbers for everyone.
* The location icon shows up in front of callers in the call list. (nice)

Is R4A008 still the latest firmware? I've noticed with my R520m that T9 prediction is *very* slow compared to my old Sony CMD-J5. |

Well... I upgraded to R4A008 yesterday. No problems at all, but
WHAT THE HECK HAS BEEN IMPROVED?? 
The only new thing I noticed new from R2G is the number type icon next to the name in the calling list.....
Was this upgrade worth 30 minutes of my life? I'm thinking not... |

i had an R2G which i upgraded to R4A008, and now am back to R3B006.
R4A008 resolves the SMS ID bug, the phone used by a caller (or one you called) can now be identified by an icon, other additional options i can't remember anymore. I still miss some of the features of the R4A008 but i need a stable GPRS connection, that why the replacement has an R3B006. |

Hello,
I have R4A008 and phone starts reseting, hanging many times a day. I wanna ask, if it is possible to downgrade firmware to R3B, which seems to me stable. Coz at service point here they told me downgrade is not possible, only upgrade. So, what are yours experiences?

FW R4A008 has known issues with GPRS that causes phone to reset. Please use SEARCH for more info.
Downgrade is not possible. Demand for a repacement unit with a lower FW version. |

i never had any problems related to GPRS when I had the R2G firmware. stable connections, no resets.
my only complaint then had been the inconsistent fonts in the menu |

My fw is r4a, but contrary to most, my gprs use is stable. There are other issues i have with this version but with gprs, i have no complaints.

Could anyone, who's got the R4A008 FW on his/her T39, please do me a favour and check if the Network Operator List has been updated: (old: Cellnet (UK), Telfort (NL) and Interkom (DE) -> new: o2)

GPRS connection is stable... Only sometimes when it's a mistake in wml page it restarts... but it's very rare

Hello,
Got myself a Mobile Action Infrared Adapter (www.mobileaction.com) to (of cource) communicate with my PC. But the %^$&* thing won't seen my phone. Could this be because the driver of the Infrared Adapter isn't compatible with the software version of my phone.

Hi Everybody! I'm new here, i'm not sure if i will be on the right thread but I'm a T39mc user i bought my phone from HK. My Software information is R2K prgcxc125138 & R2K prgcxc125147_TAE. I'm interested in upgrading my software. What is the latest software available? Can it fix the problem with the text id? Can i have ems or mms even if i have mc? if i upgrade my unit? Hope someone can enlighten me. |
