I just Did it to day upgrade it to w800 From Gsm Teknik

Can anyone who's done or played with the upgrade comment on the improvements in the media player? A better media player is a higher priority for me than flight mode...

Hi all.
Got a K750i.
What a company can do we can do it as well no ? So where can we find a tutorial to do this upgrade ?
Mediaplayer of K750i is rubish. I am sure they gonna make it better soon. Folders etc. would be very cool. Just a matter of time I think. |

at the moment, remote server doesn't support the convertion....so the only way to do it is to get someone who has cruiser or setool3
honestly, personally speaking, I am using a K750i with W800i firmware, except for the flight mode, I don't see much improvement.. or I will say in the media player option, u can sort the song by artist which the K750i menu doesn't have it ..

this might b a dumb question but i have to knw..........i have d750... doh i wanted to convert this to a w800 im on contract(pay monthly) to t-mobile so does this firmware conversion affect the contract in anyway?
if so how? |

Is there no way of:
1) Downloading the prog to flash the phone (k750i)?
2) A site that hosts all Firmwares to download?
or
Is the only way of flashing the phone, is to send it away?

Guys - I took the plunge! I sent my phone off to Ken at www.kingmobilephone.com in London and for £20 I had it debranded, W800i flashed and posted back to me in 4 days!
As mentioned, there is currently no way to remote flash and may be not for some time! These modders have to buy the equipment to do all this and I can't see anyone offering all that for nothing .. while you're waiting .. I've got a W800i in the (cooler) K750i body! ^______^
Ken is a top guy who I found always polite, informative and very helpful. Call him and mention 'rabvtec' and be friendly, because he is!
If anyone wants, post your Qs here and I'll do my best to answer them. |

1) hows the speed overall?
2) camera quality including pics, and videos, the dpi, pixels, etc.?
3) music quality? media player?
4) battery consumption? and during music only mode?
5) voice/speaker, during a call?
6) gprs?
7) how do u sync? since no pc suite for w800 yet (will the pc suite for k750i work?

From what I can tell theres not much difference between the firmware. So does anyone recommend waiting until the W800 is released then seeing what davinci has to offer?

Had my K750i flashed to W800i, but just got it "re-flashed" back to K750i.
The reason is that there is nothing that makes it worth it (except the Flight mode, which is not really Flight mode but a Music mode as the Organizer etc is not available in Music mode) and the fact that the firmware is still buggy.
Also, it seems not possible to update the phone after the W800i is finally released.
Plus the lack of USB-driver for the W800i right now = no sync with the PC etc...
And one can not change the shortcut to the Music player (between the soft keys). I like the way it is on the K750i.

Bearing in mind the amount of problems with the various k750 firmwares, is the w800 firmware more stable/does it have any known problems? If it runs totally problem free, that in itself would make upgrading to w800 firmware worthwhile. |
