I do not have the "i" either but I do not have any bugs as you say. My phone works exactly as a friend of mines does and his a retail z800i. The software you have is very old.

R1X016 is indeed very old. The absolute latest firmware is R1AB014 though anything from R1Y onward should be OK for you. |

Did you use TMS or Davinci to do your phone or is it retail? If you used Davinci or TMS does yours say z800i or z800?

Just tried to flash my Z800i unlocked with TMS and after the flash it stopped in the finalize section. Now the phone is dead because it wasn't finalized.
ANybody know if that's a problem with TMS client 1.80 ?
Lost 3 credits and they don't answer back.
ANybody sells credits from them because where I by usually, doesn't answer either.

I went to the mobile store again telling about the problem i mentioned earlier about the old software ..
He updated my phone with newer firmware which is: R1Y005 !!! He said this is latest he can get.. he dont use TMS or Davinci ..
Now my Z800 works great .. and have no known bugs yet ..
The most cool thing in what i got with this software.. that i can choose the kind of network for my Z800 . .if its GSM + 3G or only GSM !!!! this was not enabled since i bought my phone ! its really cool !! so the place i have bad 3G coverage i can set my phone to be a GSM phone only !! and in good places there is 3G coverage.. i choose GSM + 3G.
I found this setting like that ..
Go to SETTINGS, then CONNECTIVITY .. then MOBILE NETWOKRS ... then GSM/3G Networks .. there i can choose between:
GSM and 3G
or
GSM ONLY !!!
Its damn cool and very flexible option !!! i love my Z800 more now  |

Hate to tell you this dude, but this functionality is not new. I have been doing this when my z800 was a v800i. I flashed it to a z800 via Davinci and have the latest software, R1AB014. The guy that told you R1Y005 is wrong, wrong, wrong. Here in Finland the SE service points are flashing to R1AB014. You need to correct them there.

Whats the changes between R1Y005 and the newer version R1AB014 ??
Is it worth to do this upgrade ?? cause i couldnt do that via SE update service via internet !!! I have ( TRE ) operator lock in my phone which does not allow me to upgrade to any newer software with SE website in internet !!

I called SE Coustmer Service in Sweden last friday 12th augest , they told me there is NO NEW firmeware to Z800 than R1Y005 !!!!
They said R1Y005 is very stable firmware, but maybe they will have a new verision with small fixes regarding bluetooth usage in Z800 in very new future .. (no date yet for launching it).
When i told them about the newer version in TMS and Davinci .. they said its just third part firmwares and they dont recommend me to use it cause if i do anything wrong .. everything well go to hell and my phone could be useless . 
Regarding the option i discovered , when u choose between 3G + GSM or only GSM .. this was DISABLED in my Z800 when i bought it ... its just came lately when i unbranded it.
I think cause *Tre* Three operator in Sweden is not a GSM oeprator, its just a 3G + GSM operator, they even sell only 3G phones !! no GSM phones at all and no one with normal GSM phone can use thier SIM card in thier phones !! Thatīs why it was DISABLED in my MENUs..

Strange that they would say that. Regardless, I have not had any problems at all with R1AB014. The BT still is terrible, but hopefully they fix this soon. Other than that I still love my phone and can see no reason to get a k750i. I can get one for about 250 Euro because of my connections at SE but I love my z800 more. I love the 3G.

I don't think anyone has noticed any differences between R1Y and R1AB at all. That may be why SE hasn't sent it to it's service centers. Why spend the time and effort launching a new firmware that is no different from the last one. |

Actually found that the TMS client is faulty! I used now client 1.79 instead of 1.80, and voila all went well! It was the client that did not finalize the phone!
Now I tested the REAL Z800 with R1AB014 and the bluetooth did not drop once.
So I have to presume for now, the Hardware in the V800 might be crap. At least for now it seems the newer phone has a newer bluetooth chip and does not disconnect using the same fw.

I agree with you ... i love my Z800 now more than any time .. its working well and have everything i want .. K750 is good phone too but no difference just the 2 MP camera . .. and the form ..
Z800 has 1.3 MP camera .. and its a 3G phone .. faster GPRS + Video Telephony .. |
