if you get a blank page, you most likely have a problem with the Java implementation running on your PC. download the latest version from sun.com and you should be ok. However, since you have a branded phone, you might not get the latest firmware. operators sure take their sweet time.

YAY!!! SEUS is back and running! Too bad that the latest version available is R4A10...

Way to go, SE! Backwards, that is... I guess their motto is involution instead of evolution.

I would rather stay at R4A10 until everything is stable in R5A02

I'm still getting this for my P910a:

Your device is not supported
CDA162005/8 is not supported or you have entered an incorrect number.

I believe the entire update site has been screwed up lately. I see a lot of members have been distraught over this and even threatened law suits against SE. . Anywho, before any of you start banging your heads against the wall try this.

Try typing in all CDA versions possible and compare the results. If you want to know how to determine which firmware version is applicable to your handheld go here:

What's My Current Firmware?

So if you notice that you are getting the same results for all the CDA versions or an error stating your unit is not compatible, chances are the server is screwed up. I have personally noticed firmware versions for some given CDAs go from R4A10 to R5A02 and vice versa over the past few days. The online server has also gone to stating a CDA # doesn't exist / not supported to supported, but the firmware version will change back and forth.

It might possibly be that SE has figured out that they released a new firmware that has issues and that they want to retract. It might make sense for those that received the "device not supported message". Primarily because the server was in the process of making those changes and it used a default message because the sever was not available. If you keep checking that link I posted above you will notice the firmware revisions have changed. This obviously smells like some internal server issues that SE needs to resolve. I don't believe it's a measure to prevent you from updating your handheld. That said, sit tight and wait for the waves to calm down.

SE is really funny... Now they say the following:

For CDA162005/1, the latest organiser version is R4A10. Now you need to compare this version number with the one in your phone.

R4A10, that WAS the version I had (old version)!!! What is SE doing!!!

Hmmmm..., interesting developments over at SEUS. What would be their solution for the people who have succesfully updated their p910's to R5A02 and are using them without (noticable) problems?

If a downgrade is not possible then you are supposed to be stuck with this "buggy" firmware unless they re-release it or come up with a new firmware right?

Anyways, R5A02 looks good to me and I can'y say that I've noticed anything strange happen yet. Time will tell I guess.

I thought I was clear in pointing out that the firmware revisions have reverted to R4A10, but some members seemed shocked for some reason. Anywho, there's no need to downgrade unless you have issues. Most issues surface once you really start to utilize your phone with something out of its current routine (ie new software, device, etc..). It might also be that they are having issues distributing it. But rolling back a firmware makes perfect since from a manufacturer standpoint. If they goofed up and released a buggy firmware the natural step to take is to allow users to revert back to a more stable one. Billy G thought it was a good corrective action to implement in his OS.
