typical vodafone service. they send me a V800 and a new sim card and the are not open between 8pm and 8am to activate it!

fortunately my vodafone 2g sim card seems to work so far though I haven't tried much with it yet

Sounds very much you advise people against Vodafone contracts?
Instead of just writing what the other operators will do, is it possible for you to write what they will release if you have so much inside information about them.

the menu is quite cool. it kind of explodes at you from the centre icon

so far I have tried a couple of ITN 3g video streams but although I am in the centre of a 3g coverage area its is less than impressive.

I'm still using a vodafone 2g sim card and I have no idea if that makes a difference so I will have to wait until 8am tomorrow to activate the sim card they sent with the phone to see if that makes any difference before I comment officially

Btw,Czech fun“s site semania.com has short article about V800, what isn“t so interesting, but above the discussion, there are three links on a videos of menu... and they are very nice...

It will be interesting to see what phones T-Mobile and O2 launch with - hopefully a model designated z800 will be one of them (especially on o2 as I'm due and upgrade in Feb )

Had a play with a V800 today, very impressive, but the tariff's are not competitive enough to sway me from O2 or Orange yet.

Looking at that table and you realise you have a £££grands with of hardware...mmmm what did you say your address was again..hahha.

Oh I dont know if this was mentioned earlier but it seems Voda is also piggy backing on O2 for 3G...If you look at the disclaimer online it talks about the two companies only ie voda and O2. I hope this doesnt put to much strain on o2 as they also supply 3. I guess I will find out when I have no network and slow download speeds.

@Superluminova You guess is as good as mine, but I think it has got to do with Vodafone not having enough coverage with its 3g network, hence they all need to pull together to help with the cost.

So any idea as to if these phones are unlocked or when they will be coming out sim-free...?? Are any of the unlocking people (online or in the shops) unlocking this yet? (assuming it's locked to voda)
