Philips Platform player for pocket pc can play 3gp and mp4 as far as I remember. I convert my stuff to avi using pocket DVD studio and play them on my iPAQ and my JAM using betaplayer

the easiest way to get the correct version is to just download the .exe version from this page. I use the latest (possibly unstable) version but it works great for me

just so there is no more confusion, either take the latest stable version from here or the latest unstable version from here

for other JAM owners out there...

i-mate have released a camera patch which can be found here but you'll need to be a club i-mate member (which is free)

A patch to improve the performance of the camera on the i-mate™ JAM is available for download. The patch improves the responsiveness of the camera when the shutter button is pressed. Settings to improve the sensitivity of the camera under normal light conditions are also modified by this patch.

Brilliant, just what i was hoping for...same as the C500/sp3i then. I just ordered mine from Expansys, should get it tom morning.

Just going to look for the WiFi (SIO) card now to hook it up for email/internet access at home

yeah, same as SP3i... too easy

I'm using the Sandisk wifi SD card for wifi with the JAM. you can get them with memory too (128mb, 256mb and 512mb) but I only use mine for brief wifi encounters so just got the basic wifi card. words pretty much the same as built in wifi in my iPAQ so pretty happy with that

how much did that set you back? And is it easy to set up?

As im not sure whether to use a Wireless ADSL Router or a simple USB wireless adapter.

I paid about 32 pounds from ebay and it was dead easy to setup. Just download the latest driver from the sandisk web site and everything else falls into place just like native wifi on my iPAQ or in windows

when you get one just ask for help but I'm sure it won't be needed

Go tmy Imate Jam today and you really dont realise how small it really it until you hold it in your hand! It so much smaller than the M1000/M2000!!!!

Initial impressions:

1) Very good battery life...used it loads today and still on full after 10 hours of heavy use.
2) Very clean look to the phone, like the Ipod.
3) Great apps as on my old C500 SPV.
4) Very simple and reliable synching to Outlook.
5) Very easy to use as a phone, I rarely used the stylus. (EDIT: I have to be honest like a blond I only noticed the stylus in the side of the phone after 8 hours of use! lol )
6) Takes SD cards perfectly so next step is to get a WiFi SDIO card for WLAN internet access at home!

Here is a pic of mine:

I can highly recommend this to users who are looking for a PDA/phone....easily replaces a P900/P910 without the flip.

One suggestion to iMATE...use the space where the answer and end call keys are at the bottom for a QUERTY keyboard....it is physically possible....

most definitly not dissapointed with it. I can honestly say this is the best phone I have ever had and its starting to look like some manufacturers, albeit it not the main stream manufacturers, are taking a good operating system and making a great device out of it
