looking at the mobile-review picyures i think i like the aesthetics of the p900 a little better, especialy the keypad side of the flip, the p910 does have a similar look to the k700, smooth lines, etc.

One of the major issues that people have been moaning about with P900 was memory and Duo limitation. Can you guys see all those weeds of "how can I use Duo Pro" threads emerging every other day... and then people screaming "why cant SE do something quickly"

Now they have done something... and many a people dont seem pleased. They want all of the world without thinking how much effort, testing and time goes to pack these things into a small device with a reasonable price and a still to evolve business plan. Maybe if SE would have waited another 6 months or a year to complete building a better model (depending on how much time they take to build and test it with a decent price tag)... these very SE loyal fans would have migrated to some other phone for lack of response from SE.

Now, SE still sells P800... of course, at a price lower than P900... and then in future.. they will probably sell P800, P900 and P910
So that users take a pick... of what they can afford and what they want. Isnt that giving more choice to consumer while they evolve the technology.

What was available 6 months back was P900. What will be available tommorow will be P910. Not everyone needs to buy every phone as the phone's evolve... phone's are not toothpicks.

I bought my P900 2 months back... just because I found it better than all. I exhausted my purchasing power and cant afford another even when I'm dying for duo pro support... that doesnt mean its not a better phone. I simply means I have limitations to get it. Its definitely a case of sour grapes to yell at SE

I am not a fan of the buttons; I think they look a tad on the cheap side to me. I have just watched the video clip of the keyboard being used and I was a little more impressed than I thought I would be. The hinge looks quite strong, although the chap in the clip did seem to be supporting the P910 with his fingers anyway. The actual text input didn't look as if it would be the most comfortable of things, but then again it didn't look as awkward as I thought it would. I wonder what it would be like if one was entering a lot of text this way.

@a_p_a_n_d_e_y

I would agree with you, to a certain degree, about it being sour grapes that cause many people to decry the P910, but I think that we should also not rush to give false praise either. The P910 is a decent smartphone, for those who haven't already got a P900. The P910 does have some very nice features, but I wouldn't have said that there is anything implemented in the P910, which couldn't have been implemented in the P900 when it was released.

Does it use a USB connection already? Or is the serial connection still disguised as USB? The P900 transfer rate is so slow compared to other devices that uses palm and PPC..

I think they should have made the qwerty keypad a 180 degrees rotating one.

that way it feels safer you just flip it back up and can type away

Yes, fingers crossed till it comes out
Regarding what could have been implemented when P900 came out... you never know. Maybe it was lack of foresight, maybe lack of technology to do it then what seems very easy now or maybe just business sense - i've just stated best to worse scenarios

As a P900 user, I would be more interested to find out whether I can get Duo Pro support by a firware update or even maybe by getting my P900 serviced or modded using P910 parts... I am just assuming that many parts and architecture is same (which might turn out to be a wrong assumption later on)

@apandey: Wisely spoken, mate!

I truly adore SE for migrating the, even when firstly introduced, impressive Communicator Platform from a once clumsy P800 with only 4k Screen and no external memory and just a mere 12mb internal memory to a powerful, versatile and extremely sleek P910 with all the nifty features a businessman would ever need and all the geeky stuff like the 1gb external possibility which are all the bells and whistles today!

This process of slowly updating and perfectioning this dream of a mobile makes SE's Smartphone platform extremely powerful! Can't wait to see where this development will lead to in the future. Way to go, SE!

cheers,
hymie

What do you mean 'no external memory'? As far as I can remember I used memory sticks with my P800, just like with my P900. Are you referring to something else?
