Well, I went out and bought the DSS-25 for 799sek. And the damn thing still doesnt upgrade, the error message is:
Your device is not permitted to use this service
Your operator does not approve the usage of this service for this device.
We look forward to assist you again soon.
Thank you for using Sony Ericsson Update Service!
I bought my phone on vodafone stores, but its not branded, and not sim locked as far as I know. This is telling me differantly though.

Stay calm Zulan. I know several people who have contacted SE about this update-service, and they say it's not the finished article yet. It's still in it's trial stages. They say sometimes it could work and sometimes don't. I know several people here in Norway who have tried and gotten the same message as you.
Paying 799 SEK for the DSS-25 seems to me as robbery. I ordered it from Ebay new and unused for 230 NKR or about 250SEK including p+p! |

So far, Bengalboy seem to be the only with success story. |

So, nick111, please try to create all the previous bugs you have seen, and tell us how many have disappeared.
Thanks! |

Umm, so I guess it depends on IMEI and customisation.
Where did you get your phone from? |

When i go and start the update procedure, it say starting applet and then after a few minutes it shows fatal error. At this times does the synstations needs to be pluged in? Btw the site is currently down, i cannot access it!

Yes, 799 sek was a robbery. I can see that now. I bought it at vodafone stores. |

@zulan
I get the same message as you, lets hope that the Swedish language firmware just isn't up yet on SE webbsite.
I also bought a DSS-25 today at 695SEK ~EUR69

Bengalboy's CDA on his phone ended in /20 and he could update
Mine ends in /17
Both are completely SIM free unbranded phones. However my IMEI is a production unit, whereas Bengalboys was a trial unit.
It is possible if it works on IMEI that they are only enabling trial units.

Could it be that simple that they (SE) hasnīt put all avaliable variants of the FW on the server yet?
I remember when i upgraded my P900 (Telia Go branded) i had a faint hope that the upgrade would remove the branding * Yeah-he-he-ah right* Later I spoke to a friend in Lund (Ericsson employee) and he said that every flavor of firmware eg. Vodafone, Telia whatever has its own checksum so it is not possible to flash a Vodafone Live phone with generic FW...

that could be right... maybe. But i don't think so because the scandinavian package is one off the first one witch is out.
It is good to here that you can delete numbers out of groups now
