Another Nokia fan... SE will show some great phones before 9500 hit the market... You have to live with it

Just like when they show S700 which will be available 1 year later?
I am no fan of any manufacturer. SE fanboys only think that SE is the only manufacturer that can come up with great phones and the rest are just idiots.
Any person in the right mind dont have to "live with it". They just buy the best phone for them no matter if it is Nokia, SE, Samsung etc.
Only fanboys will need to "live with it" because of their narrow-mindedness. |

@lazarini
I have had a 9210 9210i P800 and I now have a P900...I upgraded to the P8/900's from 9210i as they had far superior apps...
I was not happy when I heard rumors that the 9210i was to be the last of the communicators....
And now we see the return of the communicator 9500 with a great spec......
@Redtooth.....
I have read your whole thread with great interest and I for one will be buying the 9500 when it comes out......The P900 is a great phone but the communicator series just feel easier to manage and control in my opinion.....
Yes it is big and what is wrong with being big....
I accidentally dropped the p800 on to carpet and it was broken, still under warranty changed....I accidentally dropped the 9210i on concrete and just a little scratch...It is a brick and I love it.......
Just slap someone with it……

Hi all,
Sorry but I am bit confused. I have a Nokia. I was that close (can you see how close?) to buy old communicator. But God it was bulky and with all due respect ugly. I held it in my hands and looked it the mirror. I felt as if I am 1970s heor shooting a movie in Hong Kong.
Now my eyes are on Motorola MPx 300 that will/maybe available end of June (of course this year, 2004). The only added feature that I consider in Nokia 9500 is EDGE. The rest MPx 300 has more. MPx 300 had 1.3 MegaPix cam... and I was ... wow!!! (sorry I cant say "wow" the way my girl friend in Singapore says it... Rozi.... shes crazy).
Now the question is; can anyone help me do a fair comparision between Nokia 9500 and Motorola MPx 300? THanks
I sincerely apologize if I said anything harmful to Nokia communicator lovers.

Ok, find better Nokia phone than p900 on the market. I'll buy it. I am not die-hard SE fan, they're simply making the best phones for me, sorry for that

P900 - 150 grams (with flip/MS Duo etc)
9500 - 222 grams (without memorycard!)

@batesie: I always find it amusing the way people go on about this phone whopping that phone.
In my opinion, the P-series and the 9xxx series occupy two different niches. The former is more entertainment and multimedia oriented, while the latter is more work/business oriented.
At the end of the day, its a question of what one really needs a phone for.
I dread carrying a laptop about but would love to have similar functionality (minus the most advanced features). A P-seies device just doesn't cut it for that. The 9500 is an excellent laptop replacement for everyday computing and a little more.
Still, that does not take anything away from what the P-series are - excellent devices (at what they do).

I have a major problem. Please help me, I'm desperate...
My Nokia 9500 worked perfectmy until last week...
I had to reinstall PC Suite 6.6 on my Xp pro SP 2.
As advised by the Nokia Careline, this is what I did:
1. deconnect DKU-2 from computer
2. deconnect 9500 from DKU-2
3. restart computer
4. uninstall PC Suite and Cable driver
5. restart computer
6. clean registry (also with Nokia Registry Cleaner)
7. download PC Suite from Nokia website
8. disable all virus-, spyware- en adawaredetectors + firewall
9. install PC Suite (without paring -> As they have told me at Nokia Careline)
10. restart computer and check if firewall and other programs are still disabled (they are)
11. start pc suite
12. press "make connection" in right corner
13. when it asks to put 9500 and DKU-2 in computer: connect 9500 to DKU-2 and then connect DKU-2 in USB (at the back of computer)
But nothings happen.
So when I click on the Nokia Connection manager-icon in PC suite I get a nasty message: "Connection to PC Suite failed. Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite. Init SL MC2 notify."
This problem occurs each time when I click on the icon of the Nokia Connection manager in Nokia PC Suite 6.6
So I reinstalled the program on and on, rebooted the phone several times and connected with and without cradle.
Nokia Careline couldn't help me... I'm desperate. Please help me... |
