There had been a software fix for this problem on the old FW revisions. I never had that problem with my old FW (R2G) or my current one (R4A008). |

GoWin - has the text size bug really been fixed? All my menus are the correct size, but whenever I view the contacts list, or missed calls list, etc, the text size is always medium, no matter what my settings are, and I have R4A |

Sorry to be boring, but I need to clarify this.
If I set the text size to small, then the missed calls list, contacts list, bookmarks list etc, should all be the same size text as in the menus. Is that true? I'm not talking about different between menus, I'm talking about different between menus and the contents of lists.
Once I'm editing a contact or task then the text size is small, but looking at the list of contacts or tasks or whatever, the text size is always medium, no matter what the text size setting.
If this is wrong, I'd really like to sort it out. My service centre will never own up about a problem, however, so I need to go in armed with information, in which case they will usually, after some protest, sort it out.
Thanks |

My experience is that after every sw upgrade, do a full reset for the phone. Of course, before that, take and backup everything, including settings, etc.
When upgraded my R520, some new features didn't even appear until the reset. I resetted because of strange behaviour, which also disappeared after the reset. |

Master reset done. Service centre say this is "feature" not bug and can't be fixed. To check again - with text size small, 5 lines of text in menus, writing and reading message screens, adding and editing contacts, tasks, profiles etc BUT only 3 lines of text in list of contacts, list of tasks, list of bookmarks etc.
Previous posts on different topic suggest differences within one software release (some versions of R4A008 can copy contacts to SIM one by one). I have R4A008 prgCXC125338 CXC125147_TAE. What versions don't have this problem? |

Previously English, German and one other, can't remember. Since recent service centre trip, English and Vietnamese for menus, input modes english, abc, cyrillic, 123 and T9 the only options are on and off, so I guess only english.
I might try and get english only next time I'm in uk, and see if it works. |

hmm, i think it's the asian languages (vietnamese, etc.) that has this inconsistent font issue.
try the european language pack (if you can do away without the vietnamese characters) |

Example when I'm in my hotel the title bar appear "JB Hotel" ( the hotel name that I stay) & when I went to places of interest it appear the location that I'm in.
I'm using T39mc SW version R4A008.
I'm not sure is this new cause when I'm new Singapore the title bar alway show the network name.
Not sure is this network feature or software feature.
Can you guy from other country confirm this?
Thank

most likely, a network dependent location based service. |

Certainly doesn't happen in VN.
For the hotel I presume they have a local amplifier inside the building (necessary for reception in some areas), so I guess it's not too hard to put there name out with it. |

I don't think it's amplifier play a part cos when I'm on a long journey bus the title bar constantly changes the name of the places from to another.
I really feel that this services is fantastic, good for traveller on a "free & easy" tour at least they won't get lost.
I think its something like "GPS" system that car are using now. |
