What's the car like? Worth the £56 ? Good fun? Noisy? Substantial enough to survive stunts ?
Cheers

Not had a play yet. MixiN's done a little review above, but he's not mentioned stunts

well, its not worth £60. you can get similar cars for like £4
just the fact that it has a SE logo on, and is bluetooth, makes it one of those things you have to get
i've driven it off the desk a few times, and its survived. always landed on carpet though
noisey? > not really
playing in a month? > if i can somehow think of a way to attach it to my keys ill have it with me everywhere! so ill still play with it

Doesn't seem too bad to control. Like you said it's not really worth the dosh but you just have to have one

nice l8shop bastards, i would make a joke about how my product is LATE from LATEshop but i suspect its been done. I paid £9 for guaranteed delivery today before 9pm, they havent even processed my FUCKING order yet. I am going to be complaining as soon as I get back from Spain!

Seems pretty good, though mine was having trouble turning right on the carpet at work. Fine on the desks though.

ok so does the Car-100 come with a guarantee? - whats covered? - what do you get in the box when its delivered?
how long does it take to fully charge it & how long does it last for?
What happens when it gets out of range?
What, if anything happens if it gets paired to more than one device and they both attempt to control it - is this possible?
Answers on a postcard! Cheers

A year's warranty covering defective product only it seems.
It can be charged for up to an hour and then driven for up to an hour on the charge.
Dunno about the others questions yet.

if it goes out of range, you lose the bluetooth connection, and the car stops. (would have thought that was obvious me self )
you can only pair one phone at a time me thinks. if it is already paired to a phone, and you ry and pair it to another, then the first phone just wont be able to drive it!

for people with lots of questions you can also go to the CAR-100 global support page and look at the manual and FAQ...

Thanks, & point taken Massuer, just inquisitive.
Final question: Can the shell be removed without difficulty. If so, can't imagine it would be too hard to replace the motor with a beefier one, with a bit of soldering. ok so it'll void the warranty, but be a lot more fun to tinker around with it if its no more than a toy car with a Bluetooth chip. |
