@masseur,
yes . i have tried many times but in vain. the cursor keeps shifting between the icons in the icon explorer menu.
i guess this operation has been disabled for t230..
any other t230 users pls let me know of the way....
thanks..

thats what it does on all the phones. You have to ignore what you are seeing and just enter the correct sequence

No ,
when u end ur sequence with '<' and '*' (starting with >*<<*), u will see the Service menu in t610 and not the icon explorer .
But, in t230, its just the IE.

@masseur: i am pretty sure that most of us found it weird that the menus ran up and down while keying the code in but...if u feel that u r getting lost, just type it til the end and see what happens I did that at the time and stoped wonderin' after i got the secret menu

Hello...
Could someone tell me how I can know when my phone was used for the first time? I mean, is there a way to confirm that my phone is indeed brand new and that I've not been duped!
I just got the phone a couple of hours back... everything seemed perfect, papers all fine, initial charge took approx the recomended time, however, there seemed a couple of ringtones that does not seem to have been put in by Sony. the tones are Arabic tones, and I live in Kuwait, so was wondering if this is preinstalled for Middle East users or its a used one.
I am under the impression that the date of first use is stored somewhere for warranty purposes... and yes, I did check the FAQ. Did the search too, but came up with things related to date and time...
//edit// Oooppss... forgot to add, I've got a T610 S/w R3C002
Cheers

I suppose you could check the "Total call time" in "Service tests" in the secret menu...

Thanks for that
Yes it does show call time 0. I presume this is not changed to 0 upon Master Reset. Also, I now presume those tons of dumb ringtones come with ME versions.

Hi,
Today I've bought a T230 and I was just wondering how can I prevent getting viruses while using it.
thanks |

welcome to Esato
this isn't really a thread for asking any old questions but since you have...
I personally wouldn't worry about it as it is so extremely unlikely. But like on PC, if you don't put forign stuff on it then you can be assured of never getting a virus
